Although he has a point if he were talking about the hurricanes. But, still, Pittsburgh won the superbowl. Maybe he refuses to believe he lost his 'Hawks +7 bet.

Though I have a friend who got breast cancer when she was 29 - and blamed it on dark hair dye. She did a ton of research about it, as you might imagine. She later became something of a celebrity on the cancer survivor circuit.

How did she tie it to the hair dye? That isn't even one of the types of cancers listed in the article linked to by NFH. And that article talked about people who dye 12-15 times per year. Shoot me (then) if I ever get to the point that I am coloring my hair 12-15 times per year. Who besides actresses and the truly indecisive could have the need to color this often? I would never argue with a cancer survivor about anything, mind you, but I always wonder about people's theories about such things.
Cancer is rampant in my family. All different kinds (though lots of lymphomas for those keeping score). I guess I've always thought that my dad's family might have been in some bad environmental cluster when they were young, but who knows? If I were to get cancer at this point*, hell if I could attribute it to any one thing - maybe it was those red m&m's I loved as a kid, or maybe the red dye in the plates my Gramma used for everything when I was a kid, or maybe how I loved inhaling deeply when my dad pumped gas as a kid, or maybe just bad genes, or maybe the social smoking I did in my 20's, or maybe the time I've spent playing computer/video games, or maybe talking on the cell phone, or maybe...
So now I need to add "or maybe dying my hair since I was 18" to the list? Duly noted. I'm sure I won't be able to sleep tonight over it.
*(I have had skin cancer at this point, and that one seemed pretty easy to link up, but it doesn't help my argument here, so I note it with a tiny little footnote.)

Check the records -- I was completely wiped out after the Seahawks/Redskins game went so far under, and then the Steelers beat the Bengals, and then the Patriots lost to the Broncos.

Football Match on the Pitch
If there are still people on this board who think soccer only involves learning to run while kicking a ball, I politely suggest you take a look at Argentina's second goal. Not the best goal ever, probably not even the best goal of the World Cup. But I assure you that you could spend the rest of your life practicing soccer every day would never be able to do that under any circumstances, much less in overtime in a World Cup game.
Slavey, the Germans looked solid from what I saw. I may have sold them a little short. I think they will ultimately lose to Argentina, but will give them a good fight.

And, if you're Pony Trekker, watch the second half of Portugal-Netherlands. The NHL hasn't a thing on soccer.
ETA: Figo would likely match up favorably against Tie Domi, too.

I didn't see that one, but I watched the England-Ecuador game and that was a snore-fest. High school hockey is more exciting than that game.
For those of you who really follow the sport, what were the fans singing or chanting during much of the game? (And I did recognize God Save the Queen -- it's the other stuff I was curious about.)

There's also a "Three Lions" chant, which is the name of the English team.
