Ah yes, McSweeney's. So hip. So cutting edge. I hear they sometimes have readings at bars in Williamsburg, which is this totally underground area in Williamsburg. Hey, has anyone here heard of Friendster? Mojito . . . trucker's cap . . .
pashmina . . .
pisco . . .
jump shark . . . paigow . . .
Sorry, I think there is a code error in the macro.

Just think, it was only 4 or so short years ago that my companion de jour said you reminded her of Dave Eggars.

If we can find another violinist, I switched to cello to soothe my traumatized parents nerves, and I was considerably better at it (though still respectably bad).

My brother once tried to be in band at school. Because he was the fat kid, and they didn't have tubas in jr. high band, he was given a bassoon. I haven't heard any bassoon solos by accomplished bassoonists, so my opinion of the bassoon as a truly dreadful instrument is probably clouded by listening to my brother practice.
When my brother played the bassoon, it made a very loud throaty noise most often heard bellowed by large mammals in pain. The dogs would plead to be let outside as soon as they heard the latches open on the bassoon case. My dad, who I think overplayed his difficulty with words when it suited him, called it the "bazooka."
If any of you are considering a musical instrument for a child who lives in your house, I would recommend the electric guitar -- without the amplifier. Get the amplifier later once the kid's gotten good enough to join a band. Band practice is always held in the drummer's garage.

Unfortunately, the Mr. is a drummer, and dreams of raising a house full of little drummers.
I'm fucked, aren't I.

Well, if you don't get fucked, you can neatly avoid the whole mess.

I was simply going to recommend she never buy a house with a garage.
I am surprised that you, of all people, chose the other alternative here.

Look into renting a storage unit for them to practice in.

Was it that long ago that both McSweeney's and I were relevant?
I think it was in the same time period that you first (at least to my knowledge) misspelled Dave Eggers' name.

Well, it's admittedly not the best choice especially given the new data on the success rate of abstinance programs.
