I haven't slept in about five months. I'm starting to see blurs in my plane of vision and my eyelids twitch.
I'm usually hyperbolic, but I'm serious. I'm past the point of sleep deprivation and into some pseudohallucinatory state.
It ain't bad. I don't have the energy to care as much... The only problem is I can barely pick up the phone to phone it in anymore. I may ride this thing further than I've done before (in college I slept for 3-4 hrs a night for an entire summer and get pretty strange and paranoid after a while). I wonder when you finally hit the wall. You probably get mono or something before that, right? I don't think I can get there. Massive B12, Red Bull, cigar* and coffee dosings are keeping me rolling. And how gay is that? What the hell am I doing? I'm pretty sure I have some intestinal parasite on top of it....

You misunderstand. I'm not asking about how much I need in order to quit working forever. I'm asking how much I need in order to take a 6-12 month hiatus to figure out what else I could be doing with my life. And no, I wouldn't just walk out (much as I might like to) - I'd give proper notice, blah, blah, blah. |
