redwell yes. canvas bag- no. And I don't worry when I win, you're right, I could be carrying shit in a garbage bag. It's when you lose you need to look like you were at least competant- remember you're giving TY the advice.

I'm hoping that when you say canvas bag, you mean something like this:

and not something like this:

I have a Levenger bag that seems to have been discontinued. This one is similar:

as is this one:

It's a shame they don't carry my bag anymore, because it's very nice. It has stiffer leather than most bags, and is sized for legal pads.

No one examines your luggage, win or lose. They examine your dress, demeanor and papers. You hand in shitty papers or show up looking like you rolled out of bed and the judge and your client will think you're a shmuck.

I'll continue carrying my zippered, freebie, canvass briefcase, with some since-disintegrated accting firm's logo on the side, until it falls apart. Its like the old college baseball cap kept together with duct tape which i wear to the gym - I feel naked without it.

And so do I. I will hate them even more when they win in 4. Detroit doesn't have anyone who could hit a jumper from more than 3 feet away if his life depended on it.

I totally diagree with the criticisms of Phil Jackson. Obviously he doesn't have the same type of playbook as some other coaches (Flip Saunders comes to mind), but what he does better than any other coach out there is manage egos.

You can have the best players in the NBA on your team and lose hugely if their egos get out of control. Controlling superstars and making sure they all stick to their roles is what Phil Jackson does best.

At that level of play, coaching is more about personnel management than it is about running tons of plays and making adjustments after every game. It's about getting your players to all hit their stride and to know what their role on the team is.

I knew you were kidding, and assumed heroin, but I've never heard it called "H" before. I am a huge druggie, obviously.

Sure, but have we descended to the level in the NBA that "good coaching" means balancing ass-kissing with delicate discipline? No wonder the game sucks so much these days (thanks, Bad Boys)--it's not about designing and executing plays and maximizing talent; rather, it's about making sure all the playground ballers get their touches. Thanks--I'll head to Rucker to watch instead.
