Seriously though, I'm quite thankful I didn't have to experience childhood in a big city. I liked riding my bike to third grade and playing pick-up football in a friend's backyard. I feel sorry for her son.

We have a backyard; he's got a pony; he plays in little league (these are only a few of the things I had to point out to him in my -- "you better get down on your knees and thank the good Lord that things aren't fair" speech). He's the last one you should waste your pity on. Although maybe his mother can be a little harsh on him at times...
OK. You can feel sorry for him about that last thing. |

This is going to sound really icky, but -- you all don't know me IRL, so WTF...
We just bought a new weekend house, and it's "historic"; it was the general store of the village back in the day (it's about 160 years old). Well, one of the artifacts (that's a little grandiose, but you get my drift) of the house is that it has a stone hitching post out front. Cute.
So, my son's great idea was that we could keep his pony at the house hitched up to the hitching post. It took him a few minutes to figure out why that wouldn't really work.
et explain: This is not a post directed at sunnybunny -- the general store/hitching post theme was just a trigger for my own little story here.
