I think it's up there with the Padres of the late 70s, but short of the ChiSox late 70s.

The 1970's were a historical low-water mark for Baseball uniforms There is no way these will ever be topped:

So I was buying gas, and it was back down to $2.60/gallon from $3.30 right after Katrina. For a half hour I was really pleased to see it down. I had forgotten I should be pissed about it being $2.60.

2. Except I was pleased that it was only $3.27.

Sure, but that's full serve, right?

A friend just got back from driving to Montreal. He said it was about $6 once he got East of Toronto. Don't know if we're somehow better supplied, or if Canada just taxes the shit out of gas.

Spring of 1998 I did a cross country trip from Texas to Vermont. I moaned and bitched about Delaware, where gas prices approached a dollar a gallon.

Right before Katrina, I was the subject of much envy because I found a station that was selling gas for $2.54 a gallon.

Celtic won on Sunday but were unconvincing overall, despite a wonderful goal from Stan Petrov in the sixth minute. But three points is three points, right?

Celtic are wearing their away strip (black) in the video clip below. I wish I could find a clip of the fight that broke out in the second half - Hibs forward Ivan Sproule should have gotten a straight red card. Shocking stuff.

Midweek action against Falkirk in the CIS Cup on Wednesday. Who do your kids support?

I've been listening to the LCD Soundsystem double CD and the new Gorillaz album - Demon Days. Some good stuff on both, though Demon Days is better overall and there are some songs on the LCD album that I can't stand. Did you like Born To Run all the way through the first time you heard it, or did it take time to grow on you?

And the world's slowest day on the FB continues.

I'm so disgusted with the Texans I can't even bring myself to rant.

So they fired the offensive coordinator. Who do they replace him with? The O-line coach. It's not like that wasn't part of the problem or anything. Grrrrrrr.

My pick of the week was taking Cincy in an elimination pool. Payback for being knocked out of another one last week by suck-ass Minnesota. The guy running the pool was duly impressed. I believe the term "brilliant" was thrown out in the summary e-mail this morning.

Last night on SportsCenter they said "you heard it here first - someone may win the NFC North this year with an 8-8 record." Problem is I heard that last week coming out of my very own mouth. I scooped SportsCenter.

Working on my alibi for cutting out of work for the 4:30 start of the Giants game today.

It was meant as a joke,
But its a decent idea -
A looser cloth band
Your head might not sear.

A pretty soft scarf
Wrapped 'round your head
might keep back your bangs
without killing you dead.

(Forgive me for writing
my post in bad rhyme
since I'm sort of bored,
I though I'd do this for a time.

And while my bad couplets
May make you queasy,
though I hate to say it,
Haikus are too easy.)

Back when I would pay too much money to have my kids play travel soccer and be coached by guys with accents, they played for a club ran by former English national team players. http://www.b-ufc.org/Coach_Bios.htm So I guess some team other than Celtic.

No! That was Coltrane. Or you. I can't remember, but that wasn't me. For one thing, I have no brothers or sisters.
