Or the Britain's Got Talent mural behind him, yes.

(I was unclear, sorry. I knew it wasn't AI.)

Fuckers. I've got a stress fracture. Planned half marathon is definitely out; I'm holding out some slim hope for Hood to Coast, but not optimistic. Injuries suck.

Yes. It's the longest developing prank in the history of the world. In 2022, you gonna get PUNK'D.

Why?

I attribute this to my being a sap, but surely there have been studies done on this. Also, I sometimes have a similar reaction when I watch Olympic figure skating and a skater or pair of skaters really nails something and the crowd goes wild because they've been on the edge of their seats, waiting for the skater to fall and that little oompa loompa commentator (hi, ncs!) fellow to scream "OHHHHH!!!!" at the top of his squeaky little lungs. That always gets me right here.
And with the music, I think it has nothing to do with the meaning of the actual words -- it's just the sound of the singer's voice and music -- a visceral response. It happens to me sometimes with Whitney Houston, which can be embarassing.

I am exaggerating, but sometimes you say things that I think he would say.

Shawshank is his favorite movie. I know that's not so unusual, but anyway, there you go.

I think it would be more embarrassing if it happened with Celine Dion. Theoretically.

actually it is much more moving if i don't know what the words mean. a lot of the words are pretty trivial, I think. i listen to opera as background music at work. I got Nixon In China ,which is in English. There is this really strong duet between Nixon and the Chinese guy early on. It has soaring parts, but the words are silly:

"I trust your flight went well"
"Oh, yes!"

hard to be moved by that.

So I stick to Italian.

I am thinking this is why the singing in Lessons & Carols gets to me every single year, and not because deep down inside I'm a Jesus freak.

Ollie, take this:

http://www.wobenzym.com/

It is likely available at your local health food store. It is a miracle worker. I broke my rib two weeks ago yesterday. The first week was brutal. I found it hard to walk, couldn't run or move fast or twist or bend or anything. Breathing hurt. Then I started taking that stuff. I actually sparred last Friday and Saturday (wearing a rib protector and no body shots) and it was totally fine. I could twist and punch and take shots to the head (the jarring movement would have hurt it earlier). I don't even feel as if anything is broken anymore. I can do situps and pushups and I did some light running today.

My doctor would kill me, I'm sure, because I'm supposed to be not really doing anything but riding an exercise bike for six weeks, but it feels pretty much healed.

She is totally cheesy, but boy does she get a lot of sound out of that skinny little body.

I'll check it out. Thanks much.

What do these studies conclude? That 10 percent of the population gets moved to tears by certain music? And that this population subset is commonly known as "saps"?

Someone on this board recently recovered from an injury and went on to set multiple PRs. Maybe she will lift you like Paul from Britain has lifted us.

The same can be said about a screaming little 9-month-old. Except for the cheesy part.
