Halloween

Those costumes you posted resemble those (briefly) worn by the ladies of Deja Vu, not the women of the RSC production of Twelfth Night. I'd like to believe that adult interest in Halloween reveals an increased sophistication among adults, but the "Sex on a Tombstone" drink special pops that bubble for me. If that makes BRC an idealist and me a cynic, then so be it.

The whole "ooh, look, we're so young at heart" schtick is such a boomer thing, and the media persists in thinking old boomer attitudes bleed down onto the rest of us, but I don't think it's really accurate with respect to the under-35-40 crowd.
I actually think the increased interest in adult Halloween parties is largely an urban phenomenon (the suburban parents have to spend the evening walking their children from house to house in their subdivisions instead of letting them roam free) and has more to do with straights trying to hone in on queer Halloween celebrations (e.g., straights flocking to the Castro to gawk at extravagant gays in extravagant gay costumes) and/or yuppies trying to relive their fraternity costume party days. You go to certain bars in the Marina, and it's like a Greek mixer but with super-premium alcohol instead of the old kegs and plastic garbage cans filled with spiked punch. The same people, the same conversations. Just substitute "Where do you work?" and "What do you like to do on the weekend?" for "What's your major?" and "What house did you pledge?"

But now I understand. This is really a nostalgia site! Now I feel at home. Keep this up, and I'll be very comfortable here and stay a long, long time.

(in other words, someone post something funny soon before a display like last night happens again, turkeys!)
Is anyone else picturing JRUSS slash Connect the Dots with a ventriloquist doll that looks like a sock defending a board wide attack on his unfunniness with a lame threat?

How often does this happen to you? Do you usually hook up with unemployed ladies?

Make the planet a bunch of oblivious cheerful hippie nudists and there's no matter of principle. Live in the real world, and it's rather a problem.
Whaaaaa? There's a quantum leap here. Showing boobs has to do with women in law school and hookers how? I got news for you, PJ... those funbags are on display 24/7 under wraps or exposed, so freeing them on a beach or in a magazine ain't going to alter whether guys oogle them and objectify you.

I have the solution. If women are allowed to go topless on beaches in the USA, men must go bottomless on those same beaches. This would make men put their money where their mouths are. Wanna see tits? Well, then risk have your package scrutinized. Seems fair, no?

You are just as quick to jump to poorly thought out emotional conclusions that suit your own selfish interests as he. And without the humor I might add.
Are you just pissed off that I said your God looks like Denny Terio?

I understand objections to fur; I just don't respect the ones by leather-wearers. But if it's any consolation, I wouldn't wear one even in front of Paigow. That would be just mean.

I would so hate to make you frown. It would probably make the clouds rush to obscure the sun and a light, grey drizzle would begin to fall. I think everyone who posts on this board mainly agrees that I am entirely correct when I say that you have my permission to bring whatever you want on.

Not on an aesthetic level, it doesn't.

Funny you should say that because when NFH asked, I started thinking about my Halloweens for the last few years and there has been a little bit of both of those themes in connection with dressing up. THe first year I was here I didn't know many people and I went to a halloween party thrown by one of the firm recruiting chicks (yes, I realize that "firm" could work 2 different ways there). Lately I have mainly celebrated with my gay friends on Halloween (though that is already done for this year, so my costume party this Friday will be in straightville). Actually my gay friends have costume parties at times other than Halloween too. So any urge for dressup that I might have can be met at a variety of times throughout the year. Fun!

I could probably count on one hand the number of years that I have NOT dressed up for Halloween though, so I think for me it is just what you are supposed to do. However I would never wear a costume to work. That is just weird.

For those who don't look at the front page, I just had the site upgraded.

The reason we crashed before was that with so many people searching the site and clicking on internal links, we exceeded our memory. I decided, since we have a sponsor, to spend the extra 60 bucks a month for double the memory in hopes this will resolve that problem. We also should run faster.

So, if you see any problems or improvements would you please let me know?

Thank you.

That is because you are afraid that Paigow would take one look at you and you would be shunned by 203 society as a cheap whore who would be played by Sally Field if ever there was a market for television movies about hysterical, superficial thinkers. Far worse than having it spit on, no?

She did. And they were spectacular. I would be inclined to say that they are still spectacular, although I haven't seen them recently.

p.s. If the owner of the lovely teardrops would care to remedy that situation, I would be most appreciative.

She gets the offer and sits on it for a month or so. Meanwhile, she tells her other Hollywood friends that she's been offered $500K to show her tits (or if she has a good publicist, the publicist leaks it to Letterman in advance of her next appearance), the rumor floats around Hollywood and gets confirmed because she hasn't yet decided and the producers want the buzz of the possibility of her showing her breasts, even if she never does. She gets asked about it in a number of magazines and Letterman and it's as big a news item because she turned it down, as it is that she accepted. Now, HUGE anticipation builds for when she whips them out. And she's credited with being dedicated to her craft when they pop out in Monster's Ball.

But thanks for playing.

TM
assume she said no-
the producer wouldn't let her talk and her people wouldn't want her to either. the producer is afraid the public would think what is wrong with the movie that he had to try and pay 500K to show tits. see the possibility of it, not realized hurts boxoffice. plus I never met a producer who wasn't an egotistic bastard. these guys would never allow a story of something they failed to pull off go public.
Halle wouldn't want it out either because it makes her seem prudish perhaps, although maybe not so much when Monster's comes out.
And the tits coming out in M.B. don't give her nearly the buzz that the Swordfish tits do. the Swordfish tits, although much briefer than M.B. are the ones you see on celebrity skin sites because in Monster Ball SHE HAS A LIZARD CLIMBING ALL OVER HER.

don't explain Hollywood to me, I invented pretending i have inside knowledge of Hollywood.
