As much as I am long overdue to see my boys in the Series again (17 years is a long time by Cards standards), it would be supremely entertaining to see the Red Sox face the prodigal son in Clemens to win it all.

Hopefully the Cards bats and the home crowd will overcome the Houston pitching advantage (Lidge is OUR daddy right now), but if there's some consolation I do like potato salad.

I'd make a similar offer but you just can't get good Ted Drewe's frozen custard or toasted ravs in Chicago...
Congrats, Aloha. It was a great series.

I felt that way when he was in a Sox uniform.

He's just proving it again, now.
*sigh* I was looking forward to potato salad.

Congrats.

Frightening. I said this to a person I was flirting with a few weeks ago. It came out something like, "I appreciate that you properly used the subjunctive. This is one of the reasons we get along so well. Let's make out."
I understand that you meant well, and I give you credit for this, but do not ever say this in front of the judge again. There is fun, and then there is professional persona.

Um. What with the suck platitudes? The response is supposed to be....fuck you, Burger.

Now...

Say what you will about Sox fans (and I will, they all can blow me), but their fans Dirt Dogs website is always a must read. This was one of the latest:

Righting the World from the Left Coast

It's a sad day when a request for lesbian porn goes unfulfilled.

You could go to S.I.R. Productions and buy Sugar High Glitter City, a film that asks the immortal question, "If sugar was outlawed, how would lesbians in search of a sugar fix satisfy themselves?" There's also Hard Love & How to Fuck in High Heels if you're looking for a double feature.

If you wanted something even more advanced, you could go to blowfish.com, but some of the videos they sell (1) look quite advanced, and (2) cannot be shipped to Texas (sorry RT).

Spree: Don't click either of these links if you reside in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or West Virginia. You'll be brought up on obscenity charges by the end of the day.

I can't personally recommend these videos, but Hard Love apparently won an AVN award, and Meryl Streep hasn't even won one of those yet.

Isn't Clemens the one commonality between Sox and Yankees fans?

Are the Astros fans ready to join us?

I wouldn't bet on it. After the hangover subsides, most will remember that it's football season, no?

Last Night's "The Office" Special

The Dating Game scene. Just hilarious.

And every scene with Neil. Genius.

(To be clear, ABBA's sentence is correct as written. I simply like economy and the proper use of whatever that "your ... using" form is called [ possessive gerund or some such? Dtb?].)
CorRECT! So few people actually use this correctly -- even in written works (which, presumably, went through an editing process). Sigh. It's another "nails on a chalkboard" thing for me, but I manage to keep the screaming on the inside.

There is an excellent explanation of proper possessive gerund usage in the uniformly excellent book, "Woe is I". (For all two of you who are actually interested.)

That's two for two. I would be willing to have the Yankees lose more often if it means you're going to continue on this hilarity roll!

There are about 12 Astros fans. The rest of us noticed that we we had a team sometime in late August.

I know one of the 12, and she's quite distraught. The rest of us are just upset we don't have another week of partying.

Last night I asked Mr. Lex when they stopped wearing the rainbow uniforms.

He stared at me, mumbled something about the Cubbies...Houston...fucking fair weather fans...and then reached for his beer.
