Why are you telling yourself that?
You know, I had thought about putting you on my ignore list, but then I felt a kind of therapist-patient obligation to you, so I didn't. Plus, I already have so many people on my ignore list that I can barely follow the board as it is.

Who Cares?
What's up with reality shows and Palm Springs? I recently stayed at the Lodge at Rancho Mirage, and it wasn't that nice. I might be biased, but as far as Southland weddings go, the Laguna Niguel Ritz Carlton is the one and only choice.

There's gotta be a Chi-Chi's somewhere in Tyson's, so to that extent it's an accurate impression.

Bullshit. Without me, you have no purpose.
Besides, people only read what you've posted when I quote it in my post.

Of course I'd respond to this.
1. The White Stripes in a first round knockout. The Strokes have a few decent songs, the White Stripes have four unbelievable albums, including a share of the Album of the Year award (White Stripes will win the AP poll, Outkast will win the BCS)
2. Funniest thing I've heard at a concert this year: "We are the Hives all the way from Sweden. It's great to be here in plastic California." Hives in a unanimous decision.
3. Don't know the Kills, but the Yeah Yeah Yeahs were ineffable in opening up for Jack & Meg. That is one weird chick.
4. No vote. Don't know the Rapture; jury's still out on the Shins. The lead singer sounds like Carl Newman, which has probably led to comparisons to the New Pornographers, but their songs aren't anywhere near up to snuff.

On the "looks filter" in the brains of women

I think that there is a difference between "good looking" and "attractive."
I think that difference is, generally, larger for women than for men.
Therefore, women have more room for factors other than looks to affect their overall evaluation of whether someone is "hot" or "attractive" or "doable" or whatever. One of those factors may be wealth and/or power.
Or it may not. I have several friends who are not at all objectively good looking (and a couple who are, objectively speaking, downright ugly), and who are poor/low status, etc. (hell, one is a municipally employed social worker) but whom I think are as hot as hell. Then again, I think Lance Henriksen is totally hot, so TIFWIW.
BR(also note - money often brings better clothing and/or stylists, and those factor into even fairly objective evaluations of whether someone is good looking or not. The Donald in a $6K suit is a mighty-sight more fine looking than the Donald in khakis and a flannel shirt, objectively speaking)C

Pagin Less
Hi Less!
How was NYC? Was it fun? DId you enjoy the snow? I like how it turns all dingy gray in like ten minutes of being on the ground, don't you?
Anyway, I just wanted to check in and see if you managed to get yourself laid this weekend. Whether the lurkettes from this board met you, or you scraped up something on your own? And most improtantly how many Lestertinis* did it take to get them to put out?
*A Lestertini is made of the exact same recipe that the beverage featured in Hot Dog, The Movie, blended by Dr. Pepper himself, is. Do not be confused, a Lestertini is not shorthand for a Molestertini bc I am certain that Less, as an insurance lawyer, got the chick's consent the second before she became so incapactiated to render herself unconsentable. While I am not fully aware of where this magic point lies between the two endpoints on the the teensy scale between Drunk ENough to FUck LEss and Too Drunk to Consent, I am sure it exists.

Apologies to Sebby and Atticus

My apologies. I accidently read this. But Atticus is correct, of course. Saying that you like to "party" makes you seem like a Wayne's World extra. Follow it up with "like a rock star" and there is no hope for you. Instead, you should say that you like to "engage in the act of partying." While this may technically violate Atticus' "party as a verb rule," it does so with class.

Not me (hi NM)! I prefer to attend (and occasionally host) parties, or to participate in festivities at the local bar or club.
I do, however, do lunch.

Weird thing I saw this weekend
A black guy named Spade. I am not making this up. And don't yell at me for being racist. It's merely an observation. Though I guess an Irishman could be named Mick and that wouldnt be too weird.

When my daughter was two years old she told me one morning. I wanted to come into your room last night, but you and mom were jumping on the bed and it was very noisy. I sometimes wonder whether I will ever share that conversation with her in later life.

Where is she, anyway? A friend had a boyband question (does whichever boyband Justin Timberlake is/was in still exist; question prompted by something on CNN about his solo stuff).

Speaking about my purpose for being here, why don't you tell me about your relationship with your father? I think that would be a good place to start today's session.

That reminds me of the other reason I keep you off my ignore list - without you quoting everyone who is on my ignore list, I would have absolutely no idea what was going on here.
Not to make you jealous or anything, but I have already received 3 PM's today and it isn't even 10:30am my time

Celeb sighting story? Excuse to reuse a photo? BOTH!
So I'm sitting in Barney's Beanery, famed Los Angeles watering hole that has about 80 TVs, so one can watch all football games at once. I've got big money on the Eagles and Ravens, less money on things like Minnesota-Seattle OVER, New Orleans -2, Detroit -3. I'm having breakfast with my brother and my sister in law, who I only get to see about once a month.
And as if this wasn't distracting enough, who's sitting 30 feet away from me, with her hand on the leg of some asshat wearing a #5 Eagles jersey?
Zoinks.
Then, leaving Barney's a few hours later, and a few dollars poorer, who do I see waiting for the keys to his SUV, but:
Rachel was cuter.
