Winter running tip- Word to the wise

just finished my first sub- 15 degree run of the season.
pre-run checklist: hat/gloves? check
several layered shirts? check
windbreaker? check
running pant? pants
something else, can't remember, well let's just go.

3 miles later.....i remember don't run below 15 degrees in boxer shorts!

Billy Bob got Botox

He was on Letterman and looking younger so I wondered if he'd gotten rested up after Angelina J left. Then I noticed he had no wrinkles at all on his forehead and his eyebrows didn't move.

Speaking of Botox, I think I was the last person to figure out Nicole Kidman's been abusing the stuff. All I noticed (and almost asked about here, circa Oscars 2003) was that she seemed to be scowling, or at least, her eyebrows were lower. Now it just seems so obvious that's what she had done.

Anyone else who hasn't actually done it (hi, Gwinky!) try to see what it would look like if you did? I looked at myself in the mirror, and totally relaxed my forehead and eyebrow muscles. Yikes! No way I'd ever get Botox without getting an eyebrow lift first.

Why? Are they drafty?

I'm running on the treadmill (yawn) until the temperature gets closer to the freezing mark.

Fight Club and Where's Vladimir?

Fucker deserves to be given a vote and then shunned by his peers.
I agree with slave on this one -- give him a vote, and let whatever happens happen. I wouldn't let him back as a manager or any position otherwise involved in the game. I wouldn't even let him speak at the Hall if he gets inducted.

In other news, Vladimir Guerrero and the Mets* are engaging in a public courting ritual. Which leads me, of course, to another installment of Yankee Schadenfreude Haiku (tm). Enjoy.

Lost Pettite, Kaz, Wells
Vlad a Met? Cashman's new job:
"Care for fries with that?"

*The Orioles are wooing him, too, but from George's perspective, losing him to the Mets would be worse.

Yep.
Briefs have elastic on legs, so they seal in warm air. Boxers are loose at the leg so they allow continous flow of fresh frozen air.

forgive me if I screw up fonts, etc.

1) 5th graders are 10 and 11 yrs old. Many are still very innocent of blood, gore, and death despite the gaming and media world.

2) my son (10) has never watched or played any show/game that includes dismemberment or killing people. I'd like to keep his experience of such to a minimum for a couple more years.

3) that said, son does have an interest in science and, probably, would not have been grossed out or afraid of the arm and procedure so long as we'd had a chance to discuss/prep him ahead of time.

4) prep ahead of time includes discussion of what he's likely to see/smell/hear as well as how to compartmentalize the experience according to our religious/philosophical/educational beliefs.

bottom line for me: school should have ensured that parents knew ahead of time and attendance was optional.

Welcome to the FB, where font errors are overlooked, but poor hyphenation is Not.

Just kidding. The bar is that way, the muchies are over there, and try not to let the slobbering advances of some Relatives Whose Names Are Omitted keep you from enjoying the party.

Desperate man

This is too funny. A guy is trying to sell stuff on EBAY stolen from his former employer (and other stuff).

The Wendy's straw is the clincher.

Sounds like he gets beat up a lot, though. Kids usually learn about violence one way or another.

I keep telling you, your expierence is unique to you. Not all kids go through the same shit. Plus, like we told you back then, if you'd have just given up your lunch money, we wouldn't have had your ass day after day.
