Of course, the gang from the right will quickly charge that investigating the administration's mis-deeds during an election must be politically motivated.

This just shows how ethical Bush/Cheney are. They will investigate charges without regard to politics. Cf Kerry.

Which investigations has Kerry thwarted?

And I take it you extend the same ethical description to Clinton then, whose Justice department went along with investigations of Whitewater, the travel office, Lewinsky, etc.?
