Well, I'm a newber, so I don't know what all ill effect was done by socks in the past, but I would suggest a "don't ask, don't tell" policy. Then we all could go back clear of these false charges.

Confession
I got a Pottery Barn catalogue a few days ago that had Christmas stuff in it, and I seriously contemplated getting the house ready for Christmas. Fortunately, the thought of my three month old puppy and a Christmas tree got me out of the Christmas Spirit fast, but any day now I'm going to break out and sing Deck the Halls. It won't be pretty.

I have Courtney Love's phone number (we only dated a few times) if you'd like to score some of the leftover oxycontin. I hear it's better than Midol.

No. You wanted US To check out your new avatar, because you can check out your own fucking avatar by looking in your user cp. Just admit that you're so desperate for approval from the FB's Office-watching elite that you can't wait until you have something else to say.

Contains "Needle in the Hay" which Wes Anderson used in The Royal Tennenbaums.

The movie's soundtrack is pretty good as well...

SPOD
(Stupidest Post of the Day)
One unintended consequence of Bill Watterson deciding not to sell out and license his comic characters is that people did it for him. Now we have a glut of "Character who looks suspiciously like Calvin peeing on (a) a Ford logo (b) a Yankees logo (c) Slave, because he paid the $50 extra" stickers on the backs of trucks and IROCs. Those idiots (no, not you Slave, you're just perverted) ruined the genius of the original strips.
It can work the other way. Schultz licenses the Peanuts characters and now they're shilling life insurance every Saturday and Sunday morning. The comics in the 50's and 60's were hillariously funny and darker than most people remember. Plus, they spawned some cherished holday specials with soundtracks from Vince Guaraldi.
Just because others use a comic character to bad ends doesn't mean the original isn't funny. Hell, Michael Ian Black shills for Allstate (albeit without showing his face) and that hasn't stopped the Board from watching him endlessly on VH1.
I don't have any comic books because when I was a kid, I got a few crummy comic books (70's era superheros and Richie Rich and Archie), thought they sucked, and never paid attention to comics until graphic novels came out. If I had lived closer to Berkeley and could see other, edgier comics, or if I was young enough to be the target for X-Men, I might have bought them. I do like Ted Rall, but his stuff is very political, much like Get Your War On or MNFTIU. I prefer Calvin & Hobbes to The Far Side, which might explain why I did better in my social science classes than my hard science classes in college.

DON'T DO IT! My god woman it's way too soon. Civilized people wait until after Thanksgiving before even hinting at (that unspeakable holiday).
Please please please, spare your family, your pets, you coworkers from anything having to do with (it) until AFTER Thanksgiving!
