As does betting on the outcome.
But I digress. Tivo makes it approachable. I watched both nights in about 1 1/2 hours. That way the Pekingese actually walked normal speed.

Exactly. I watch the entertaning breeds. Skip sporting and hounds (though pharoahs and ibizans are quite beautiful) and much of the herding . I like those enormous working dogs.

I have more Canadian connection that anyone here not born in Canada- I've curled......but its a smallish country as to population, however wonderful. The player's salaries are bloated.

Not Bob Loves The Bluejackets

I love you gwink, but that's baloney. Maybe the league charged too much for expansion franchises in the Bettman Era, but that is not the problem.
A large part of the problem is simply that there is a huge disparity in the willingness/ability to pay big bucks between rich and poor teams. Whose fault is that? The Nashville Predators? No.
Another part is the expiration of the ABC/ESPN deal. No big money flowing in anymore, and the new deal sucked becuase ratings sucked. Why did ratings suck? Because the games were not enjoyable to watch for novice fans. Blame the Atlanta Thrashers? Heck, no, they are more fun to watch than the left wing lock using New Jersey Devils. Instead, blame the clutch and grab that isn't called, the goalies who look like Michellin Men, and the rules which seem designed to eliminate offense.
And the argument about talent dilution caused by the Anaheims of the league is misplaced -- the addition of new teams has happened only after the league began to open itself up to players from Europe. This isn't 1967; Khabibulin's not forced to play for the Red Army team, and general managers are willing to sign players who aren't named Claude or Trevor.
Oh, and slave, fuck Goodenow because if you're going to cave for a cap of $49 million, you might as well take a cap of $42 million to save the season.
|
2 years ago the wings bought the best player from washington (I think) the second or third best player in the league- the Wings just took him with $$$$. Whatever the owner of the Caps does, he can't compete with Little Ceasar's. It kills a league trying to develop fan interest when a star leaves the minute he steps out.

Unsightly Cellulite on My Cushions
Ugh. I picked a sofa that did not have attached cushions and it's a "two seater" sofa so there are 2 large pillows that form the back of the sofa. They zip/unzip and inside are pillows that have stuffing in them. But the cushions seemed too lumpy and bulgey (like cellulite) so I took the pillows out of the cushions and just put the stuffing directly in. Now they are even more lumpy and yucky. Is it possible to convert these cushions into sturdier types that you see on attached-cushion-sofas without re-ordering the fabric and having the cushions custom-made all over again? Thank you.
