As much as alleging that a comment warning of physical harm to the president was motivated by loving concern, yes.

I was thinking heatstroke, but same thing. Will George Bush's environmental policies have to literally kill Sebby before America wakes up to what's really going on? He will not have died in vain.

The difference is Helms was not in the Klan. I challenge you to find a quote as egregious as this:
He would never fight "with a Negro by my side. Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds."
Wow. To put it into some perspective, he was Coltrane's age now when he uttered that.

Glibness doesn't become you. You can feign a casual indifference all you want, you know and yoiu know that I know that you know that the thought of Cheney as President makes you streak the backside of your depends far more than the reality of Bush as president ever will.

Where were the planes?

3) If you are so bitter about this, write your Senator and have them cancel the Posse Comitatus Act.

CRAF is currently being used w/r/t NOLA - but it was invoked until days afterwards. It's part of the Disaster Preparedness Plan. And Blanco didn't need to cede it, though why the hell she would argue is beyond me, given the greater resources.
Bigger point is, if imbeciles keep repeating shit about the buses until we'll all sick, I'll keep repeating shit about the planes until they're all sick.
Look on the bright side - no assinine photoshops from dumb-ass sites for me - I have standards.

Notwithstanding my obviously facetious post, I have no problem condemning Helms' statement. It's exactly the thing I was talking about in my earlier post about the Dimwits degradation of decorum and respect for institution in our society. And further, it may have violated the statute in question. It appears that the Secret Service investigated the Helms trheat and their was no recommendation for prosecution. There should have been a censure.
As there should be for Landrieu. Can you admit that, or is Ty the only liberal here with any integrity?

Bush said this: "to the extent that the federal government didn't fully do it's job right, I take responsibility. I want to know what went right and what went wrong."
He hasn't indicated what he or any member of his administration did wrong. This is as meaningful as Ty's acceptance of responsibility. We know many things went wrong:
He didn't activite the military.
He didn't activate the CRAF.
He appointed an incompetant and left him in charge.
He didn't activate the national guard.
He didn't approve activations of the national guard by other states in a timely fashion.
So, let's here him take responsibility and start fixing things.
|
Am I going to have to start fixing things around here? Hank and Penske bitch and moan so much when I start editing their posts. And I thought a simple admission of responsibility would just solve everything . . . .
