New York ain't the only team trying for a makeover

"The Boston Red Sox placed All-Star slugger Manny Ramirez on irrevocable waivers, The New York Times, the Boston Herald and the Providence Journal reported Thursday.

The move means any major league team can have Ramirez -- if it is willing to pay his salary. The outfielder has five years and $104 million remaining on a $160 million, eight-year contract. He is scheduled to make $20.5 million next season."

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1650053

This of course means nothing. Hopefully, even Steinbrenner isn't stupid enough to pick him up. Look for Boston to eat part of his salary in a trade later.

CNN reads the FB

Hasn't this been discussed here already? CNN.com has a story about the EA game cover jinx. I tried searching for the posts, but no success.

I wonder if Montecore was just getting him back for all the choking he had to endure while a cub.
Nope. Just a little hungry. And thank you for posting the picture showing how I was ripped away from my mother Shiva at the tender age of 5 days. Brings back great memories, let me tell you. Thanks a lot.

I have problems with disciplining others. Every time they give me a project where I supervise another assoc, I let the kid get away with murder and then wind up doing most of the shit by myself. I lack the "dick" gene which is required to beat up on other people. I wind up making friends with them and commiserating and fucking around. This probably explains why I also have awful reject secretaries and paralegals working with me.

On the positive side, I just picked up a new suit from the cleaners/tailors and the fresh new silky fabric feels fantastic on my balls, so all is not wrong in the universe.

In the days since the Yankees' World Series loss to the Florida Marlins, owner George Steinbrenner has taken control of the team with the apparent intention to dramatically alter the roster.
Red Sox should just sit tight. George in "control" will take care of the rest.

All but 1 team would be grateful to have made the series, shit I'd love a simple winning record.

I watched it live (which started late) and then the first fifteen minutes on replay and he played shockingly well.

I am still not on the LeBron bandwagon. He dropped out of summer league after three games because he was too tired. I will be very interested to see how he holds up on an NBA schedule. That said, he has skills. His pass to Davis was a thing of beauty.

I am looking for Melo and the new look Nuggets to set things off.

YOu know the answer to this. Blame others.

"I don't mind that you've given me a half baked memo, I can certainly guess what you mean about Section 674 (g) and its legislative history from you vague comments, but to be fair to you I'm need to insist you redo. Senior partner King would have your ass if you get used to doing this level of completely competant but arguable slightly not complete work."
