As for lax players, you should move to Baltimore. Truly remarkable--3 year olds walk around with lax sticks. Not that you're into three year olds or anything. But it says something about the area.
Other than that they like their lax there, what does it say about the area?

CSN&Y was his low point during that era. They should've never been together. The records sound totally disjointed. Its like a three man harmony group touring with a solo artist.

Either this is another attack of sebby-style hyperbole, or you are completely fucking high.

I like Neil Young and consider him worthy, but he's no Bob Dylan.

That they're proud of their Native American heritage? Maybe not.

Thanks to Sparklehorse for the link to the New Yorker story. I'm from that region and I had no idea of the ties to the Iroquois.

Yes, he ought to be. And he is indeed a brilliant songwriter. But he can no longer sing, so he should stop doing that.

Did anyone watch the televised wedding last night. I'm seriously hoping not and that ABC falls on its face with this fiasco. Listen to this -- (from cnn.com)

"ABC estimated the wedding cost $3.77 million, including $500,000 for the 30,000 roses imported from Ecuador and the $30,000 for gift bags for the wedding party. Three thousand wine and champagne glasses were shipped in for the event."

Almost $4,000,000 on a fucking wedding.

Uh, because there's nothing going on in Baltimore?

If you're looking for Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (Rolling Stone's top album of the year for 2002), you're going to be looking for awhile.

And, with this, our musical tastes diverge. CSN&Y was THE group for much of the seventies. This critique sounds like the people who complain that Dylan's voice was raspy.

I suppose you had to Be Here Now to fully appreciate it.

Neil doesn't have quite as many gems as Dylan, nor the ocon magnitude of Dylan, but his output is way larger than Dylan's and in being so, he's quietly amassed a rather impressive library of timeless music.

I think the music of the Dead (the country/bluesy stuff, not the psychedelic jazzy stuff), Young and Dylan will have the longest reach into the future because its simple and timless. The themes are approachable to any listener and will wear like old Delta blues.

No, just nasal and horrid. And now, borderline incoherent.

That's why he was the perfect sixties-seventies icon. We were all borderline incoherent, and he was our voice.
