You have an econ degree, too, huh?

Mine's sorta kinda econ, but with other stuff thrown in. It was the "I dunno what I wanna do with my life so I'll keep my options as wide open as possible" major. I was pre-med too, until O-chem did me in.

You're all wrong. First girl doesn't need a bra. Second one squarely rejects its use to achieve the look.

You don't know mean and useless.
That ain't nothing. In Minneapolis, they will pay the bus driver to swerve and hit you. Then they will park their car on your legs to make sure you cannot get up and, as you lay there screaming, get out of the car and ejaculate into your mouth. They will then attack the woman who is attempting to call 911 to get you some help, gouge out her eyes, and poop in the sockets.

Appropriate FB statements?

Attempt 1:

Benetton's chief executive, Silvano Cassano quit abruptly. He had rowed with the Benetton family, which owns a controlling stake in the firm, over the fashion retailer's plans to expand internationally. The chief financial officer resigned at the same time. Benetton's shares fell by almost 9% on the news.

Should I buy some shares or go short?

Attempt 2:

I just watched the Sixth season of the Sopranos on DVD (I wait for the DVD to come out). I didn't like this season nearly as much as earlier. I actually fastfowarded through stuff where before I was almost bummed when the show ended.

Attempt 3:

Between Six Feet Under, Rome, Deadwood, the Sopranos, Nip Tuck and Weeds, I don't watch TV or rent major releases at Blockbuster anymore. I just rent old TV shows (and the TV shows are mostly from HBO). Anybody else having the same experience?

My best friend and roommate at the time did come out while in the economics program, so perhaps you are onto something.

The height of the gayness is seeing a former professor's signature on money.

This was perfect. I mean, really perfect.

Then I read "poop."

Slap yourself.

Um, not a good example. The first time I saw someone here expect to have their groceries bagged for them, I turned to my husband and said "I cannot believe how many lazy-assed princesses there are here."
Oh, that wasn't poor customer service. That was just me not understanding the rules. I don't blame that clerk at all for the glare and sigh.

There were plenty of other instances that were poor customer service, though. Or at least service that I wasn't used to, being a Spoiled American for the 20 plus previous years of my life. Service people who would totally ignore me the entire time I was in a shop, and then sigh dramatically if I asked for help or if something came in a different size or if they had any more of whatever was in the window.

I went back last year, though, and I was rather surprised how much things have changed in the dozen or so years since I was living there. It could be that I'm at a higher income level than my poor student days and people pay attention to me, but I think it's that the service culture has changed a bit there.

Heh. Yes and no. My close acquaintancship is now:

Three profs at said school
Three profs at other schools in Canada (one pretty good) and Norway
One guy making a fortune doing encryption
One mildly sucessful playwright
One arms smuggler (CIS into western europe)
One social worker (violent psychotics on public assistance)
One counsel at a huge pharmaceutical company
One middle school science teacher
One Idaho housewife
One guy bumming around on the dole

Of those, only the arms dealer, the social worker and Mr. encryption make me feel like an underachiever.

et fix grammar - doh!

Maybe compared with Organic Chemistry or Physics. But out of all the Humanities and Social Sciences, I would say it is the least gay major.

To play along, going short seems like a bad idea. Wait until it ends a day in positive territory and go long. They confirmed guidance so it probably is oversold.

There are a couple of Navy SEALs, a few lawyers, a lot of consultants, a lot of professors, and Rory. Mainly it's Rory. And it's more the New York Times best seller than the running a province in Iraq or walking across Afghanistan.
