And Steve's for a few years after that... Also the dean's daughter.

And during all that time, she was remarkably cross-eyed. Making me always wonder how exactly she got cast... Maybe she's had that fixed by now.

I believe she's Canadian.

In case it has not been made clear yet, that's generally enough to make it in Hollywood. (c.f. Jason Priestly)

Bad habit though.

No no no no no, Brandon rebuffed her advances, mostly.

Or so I was told.

96.5 on the music quiz. Would have had 106.5 but for the spelling of colitas (calitas). That's Timmy karma.

Are you sure this isn't what triggered your obsession?

Why, because he was diddling the married prof. at the time?

At least that's what I thought I heard.

I know you're kidding around ... but:

The person self-identifies as a she. Out of respect for her humanity, we should refer to her as a she. "It" is for inanimate objects, not for people who don't fit neatly into gender categories. "She" or "her" might not seem right to you because she's not somebody you would want as your sex partner, wife, sister, or mother, but that doesn't mean she's an "it."

Now, if your (by this I mean anyone's) respect for her humanity is diminished by her decision to appear on an unbelievably exploitative television program (where she deceives other people in a really fundamental way), so be it, but if it's diminished by her gender dysphoria, shame shame.

Lou: What's your name?

Jerry: Jerry Seinfeld.

Lou: What is your address?

Jerry: 129 West 81st street.

Lou: Did Kimberly steal Jo's baby?

Jerry: I don't know.

Lou: Did Billy sleep with Allison's best friend?

Jerry: I don't know.

Lou: Did Jane's fiance kidnap Sydney and take her to Las Vegas? And if so, did she enjoy it?

Jerry: I don't know.

Lou: Did Jane sleep with Michael again?

Jerry: (hesitates) Yes! That stupid idiot. He left her for Kimberly, he slept with her sister. He tricked her into giving him half her business, and then she goes ahead and sleeps with him again. I mean she's crazy. How could she do something like that? Oh that Jane, she makes me so mad.

I was going to respond with "boy is she hot!", but I just can't do it. It just doesn't feel right.

You want pronoun confusion? Try hanging out with drag queens. One second you have she, the next he, and then if you are just talking about the person you have to switch back and forth depending upon whether you are talking about them as a drag queen or as they are every day. I cannot imagine what people who are overhearing my conversations Sunday morning at brunch think when I start talking about a fellow named Glen who becomes Glenda when he dresses up in drag.

Frankly it sort of makes my head hurt. I can't imagine what it does to people who don't hang around transgendered folk. I have been doing so long enough now that it comes more easily to me, but at first I was pretty much afraid to open my mouth for fear of insulting someone.

Unfortunately we don't have a third choice in pronouns, it is a shame we can't use em in real life. Generally what people do is call them what they present to be. In this case, female. And if the person is transgendered (as opposed to transexual) the person in her mind is female, though not yet physically completely so. So that makes some sense.

oh the (respect for) humanity!

Look. The joke isn't on "her." It's on me. It's supposed to be funny because I can't quite find the word to describe "her." It's not meant to reduce her to an object.

But that said, I don't care what "she" wants to be called. "She" ain't a "she" because she has a penis. That means "she" is a man, baby. That's the fact, Jack.

Now, if there were some term that made sense, anatomically speaking, that I could use, I would use it. But this "respect for 'her' humanity" argument is crap. I recognize and respect "her" as a human being. The joke is that I don't know what the hell to call "her." The joke isn't, "it's funny to make her inhuman."

That makes perfect sense. And if she were here, I would refer to her as a she. But she couldn't get all that offended if I fumbled around trying to figure out what I should call her (which is essentially the joke I made). (Well, I suppose "she" could get offended, I just wouldn't be that upset about it.)

I asked some friends point blank a few years ago what it was like to have sex while noticeably pregnant. Both the man and woman laughed and said "gross." The woman added something to the effect of "I felt like a pig and didn't want to even be naked." Contrary to the ridiculous bullshit line "My wife never looked more beautiful than when she was pregnant," every guy I've asked has said "I basically jerked off for nine months." That 'pregnancy is sexy' nonsense is another case of societal denial of the obvious, like when a woman will say bout her husband's newly developed beer gut, "Well, he's a got a cute tummy and he's 'filling out.'" I say bullshit - he's getting to be a fat fattie and you should tell him so in order that he get his fat ass off the couch and get on the treadmill so he looks presentable again. Call a a spade a spade.
