I'd normally say just ignore her until she goes away, but this only works with polite people. I'm beginning to find more and more people simply don't understand hints. Kind of scary. Its a necessary human social skill.
Right, but then I cant go to my bar anymore. Which would be tragic. This place is a DC rare find.

Maybe it's the azaleas and the cheezy music.
And the virtual (or complete, like last year) absence of ads, with docile music on the ones that do run. It's kind of like sitting on the porch of your course-side house in the South, even though it's on tv.

the album with Creep on it is nothing like the rest of their albums. they are kind of an updated Pink Floyd (including having some concept albums). Just borrow either OK Computer or The Bends from a friend and see if you like them. Doesn't sound like they are necessarily your thing, though they do have some surprisingly good guitar parts and some rocking out (in a sort of euro way) in some of their songs.

You could try showing up later (after she would be there) with a few other friends. You could greet her when you walk in and then settle in a different spot with your friends. It may send her a signal that you want to keep a certain distance between you. Of course, the subtle approach rarely works with psychos.

Why do we read this and automatically assume you've flipped the parties on us?

I feel your pain. I felt the need to celebrate my friend's trip to Hawaii this morning by staying out with him until 2:30 last night. Thankfully I have nothing going on at work today so I'm leaving at lunchtime for the day. Hey, it's a religious holiday.

No, no, no. "It is not my job not to fuck them." means you don't have any obligation not to fuck them, so you can. Frequently. In your office. That is not the same as saying that your job is to fuck them. It is all at your option. Fun.

Vodka
tomato juice from California (I have the brand name written down somewhere - it was special-ordered by the bar and I've never seen it since)
lots of horseradish
fresh grated parmesian cheese
celery garnish

Any of you Chicago FBers should seriously hunt this place down and have a cocktail. It was on the opposite side from the cheeburger place and a few blocks closer to the highway. I think it had a man's name in the name of the bar. Most excellent.

ETA: Wonk's post reminded me I left out the worchester sauce. I'm sure there was some of that in there too.
Wish I knew what place you were talking about.

I wonder if they make a good Bloody Caesar? Mmmmm..Clamato.

I just find it difficult to believe that you of all people would not know what to do in this situation. Ignore lists do not work with this sort. Nor do not-so-subtle nonverbal cues such as the eye roll. You will have to be caustically direct. What good is witty repartee if you choose not to use it for self defense?

Why can't you just work some of your magic for Paigow?

Sure you can. Just avoid her. Its no biggie. I find alcohol eases even the most uncomfortable of social situations.

The first question is: do i answer her email at all and if so, do I jsut say "no, I wont be there".

as to your suggestions- this place is always jammed fucking packed, which means on the upsdie she might not see me, bvut she is psycho so she would hone in. also, I have gotten ther before her on the two occasions I saw her there, and she has found me both times. And the time I was with my friends, I was distantly polite to her but she sat herself right down in the seat we were saving for our late friend and just talked and talked and talked. As rude as I am here, I have a hard time being rude to someone in person if I sense that they mean welll. but I am sure I gave off vibes that I wasnt interested in talking to her. She is not a hinttaker.

Only if you're a simp about it. Try saying first when she approaches you, "Sorry I can't talk, I'm busy right now" then turn away. Over and over and over again. If that means being busy by immediately grabbing the bartender and slurping on him/her, beats having to do the stalker.

Of course, the bartender could get you arrested. But I wouldn't mind.
