Yeah, but they would usually stop talking when you threatened them with violence, made fun of their glasses or asked them if they'd ever kissed a girl.

No w - uhhh, I mean - they wouldn't. Your position is completely unsupported by the evidence.

Ah, I can't do it anymore. I got nothing.

(Kicked off the debate team for being too argumentative - really. Or that's what they said. More accurately, I had trouble differentiating between arguing with other teams (good, apparently) and arguing with the coach (bad, apparently).)

I had the same problem on the soccer team. I would give the ref, opposing players and my coach equal time.

I had that problem with the ref in both rugby and lacrosse. Both coaches encouraged it.

Back when I coached women's beach volleyball, I always encouraged a bit of it, too. I think it's just part of any rough contact sport.

Judging by the consistent physical restraint by my coach, I don't think that was true when I was berating the ref. Or the other coach.

That's cool. But as to the others, being the rebel on the debate team or the soccer team just means you are the least gay of the gay guys.

Times have changed Hanky. Football and basketball just don't cut it anymore with the ladies.

Apropos of soccer, I watched "Victory" for the first time this weekend. It's hilarious. One of those movies that is so ridiculous a la "Road House" that every scene is laugh-out-loud funny. Just seeing Michael Caine and Stallone in the same scene is enough to make you laugh. And then Stallone speaks...sometimes in French! Good times! And the recruitment of Pele? Too much.

The soccer scenes are actually excellent, although they should be since all of the players except Caine and Stallone were real footballers.

You've never been to a woman's rugby match have you? I was definitely the least gay.

So I should add it to my Netflix list? The only soccer movie I've seen is Bend It Like Beckham (great soundtrack) although the trailers for Shaolin Soccer looked pretty cool.

So you encouraged your players to rough up the Ref? You didn't want to get roughed up, or do you just like to watch?
