At least we've reached some consensus that W sucks more than Carter.

I think that is only if you accept my assumption. Either way I thought my Dole comment was somewhat bi-partisan, no?

We have to institute soemsort of poll quiz before we can let these guys vote if we really want to have results that are meaningful- here let's start with this question:
In your earlier answer, did the fact that Carter won a peace prize raise your estimate of him as President?

Viewing his honorarium with 20/20 hindsight, yes.
He is as beneficial to the United States and its mission in the world as his fellow humanitarian and Nobel Peace Prize winner (thanks to the liberal inteligentsia) Yassir Arafat.

Carter is a much better ex-President than he was President.
Bob Dole would have made a solid, but not spectacular President. With respect to achievements of the second Clinton Administration, I don't think that he would have pushed through the Good Friday accord, but he may have intervened in Bosnia and Kosovo. I would have picked him over either of the choices we had in 2000.

I feel the same way about Carter's fellow Nobel Peace Prize winner, the now ex-President of the Palestine, Arafat. Satan is giving him rave reviews for his performance down unda'.

At the risk of confusing things by talking about reality, you might note that the peace accords between Israel and Egypt have been somewhat more successful than the dealings between Israel and the PLO.

This makes no sense to me. I don't know this Brad DeLOng, but he sounds like an idiot. Is he from the DU?

If we are dealing in the world of practical reality (in re: the bond between the two nations that has evolved over the last 25 plus years) and by successful you mean that Egypt has diplomatic cover to avoid sacrificing thousands of men to additional doomed to fail pan-Arab attacks on Israel and additionally that Egypt has diplomatic cover to avoid having to lose large swathes of Egyptian territory in the same said doomed to fail attacks, then yes, I agree with whatever point you were making.
