Because you read it on the net? Care to offer me all the variables in the polling data you cite? Is such info even included in the short form net capsule you cite?

google results for "gay rights inititives" and report back. Only the most accepting of cities would consider putting this on the ballot, but they regularly go down in flames 60-40 in cities thought to be progressive- of course my own humble burg passed one 70-30.

In Houston, the measure that would have given city workers domestic partner benefits was very narrowly defeated in 2001 51.5-48.5 percent. A lot of people think it would have passed if the wording hadn't been so confusing.

Oh please. Houston, as well as the rest of TX, is known as a hotbed of social liberalism. Freaking blue states imposing their godless values on everyone.

In my city the gay rights inititive also prevents discrimination based upon weight.

The euphemism I have heard is "prosperous" -- when did this change?

I think Judas was big-boned. Everyone thinks Jesus was so forgiving, but that isn't true always.

Nothing subtle here.
DCers were startled today to see a "security blimp" in the skies, Watching You.
Quote:
Pentagon police said the Defense Department is testing a security blimp -- fully equipped with surveillance cameras. The white blimp was spotted early Wednesday morning hovering at various times over the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol.
The 178-foot-long device, which is expected to remain in the skies until Thursday, is conducting a mission for the Defense Department.
Authorities say the airship is equipped with infrared cameras designed to provide real-time images to military commanders on the ground. The equipment on the blimp already is being used to protect troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.
|
Government officials also noted the significant cost savings, given the efficiencies of blimps as compared to the maintenance costs of the fleet of black helicopters.

I think this makes sense, given that both will be lying with every word they utter and neither will keep their promises. Do yourself a favor and watch without sound. You will know who won.

The translation is incorrect. Substitute "prosperous" for "rich." "Festive" works, also.

Korean is a language. In korean " eno enoa juang ". Which means, "this guy - this is not my kind of guy".

bilmore, if you can read this from an airport bar, can you tell me again what it is I'm missing about the situation in Iraq? You may want to tell Powell, also. And the CIA, departments of State and Defense, and the NIC.

This settles it. I'm changing my opinion to we shouldn't have gone there.
