Playboy and Walmart

The one on the right (my right) is cute, the other one doesn't look good enough to be in a magazine (although she could do bukkake). This Wal-Mart thing is funny because they refuse to carry Playboy. If they had sold Playboy, they could threaten to not sell it anymore and Playboy would probably have caved, but they have no ammo against Playboy now. They also pay their workers such shitty wages that firing them for appearing in Playboy is not really a threat either. So screw Wal-Mart.

Yes. I can't wait for December's Cosmo to arrive.

Shortly after they started hooking up, I was moving from one state to another, and I went to see him one last time for some good-bye sex. It was terrible. He didn't talk to me for a few days after that and when I finally got him to tell me what the fuck was going on, he confessed that he was really into this other chick and that things were going great, and sleeping with me was a huge mistake. He explained that he never told me about how much he liked this chick because he was afraid that it would upset me.
Every guy I was ever *serious* with married the girl they dated immediately after me.

None of them ever worried that it would upset me, but I have often wondered if somehow I was such a pain in the ass that the next girl seemed too good not to marry by comparison.

The question is, will it work at all on the flip side? I don't think there's an honest, good looking guy out there who would wade through a bunch of uggos to find love (besides slave, of course). But damn that would be fun to watch.

I think you're right, but if you had one average to below-average looking girl and a bunch of good-looking guys, I think the competitiveness would kick in and they would all be trying to out-do each other to win.

All-Star Survivor

Apparently the list is out for the all-star season. The place that I read it called this a spoiler, though I don't really view it as one. In any event, I'll put in spoiler space for anyone who is overly sensitive about this sort of thing...

I finally got around to watching this. It may be the drugs she was on or her partner, but she looks like a boring lay. Should the opportunity arise, however, I would probably give her the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps she just needs better direction.

And I can't believe she answered her phone.

I cannot and will not answer this question directly. But he makes excellent lists.

Once again, didn't want to hurt feelings by saying "thanks for asking but I really just wanted the kid."

My parents know me too well and thought I should stay single and childless forever. The current husband (#2) seems to be working out okay. The kid is great. I think I'll ride this one out and see where it takes me.
No wonder you drink two six packs a night.

Amazing how many of these people I've managed to forget about. How far did these people get in their respective competitions?

All-stars, indeed!

Those wacky Heavens Gaters

Ah but you yourself pointed out the flaw in using that as a comparison. If they died "for what they believed," then it wasn't for something they *knew* is false. Being deluded is a whole different thing.

The disciples wrote about things they saw and heard over a 3+ year period. They preached it and were killed for it. The obvious options are:

1. They collectively decided to make it all up and, knowing it was all a complete crock of shit, each decided to continue perpetrating the lie even though it meant they were killed in fairly gruesome and painful ways. This is what I said would be pretty stupid.

2A. Jesus was the ultimate con man and completely pulled the wool over their eyes so they believed what they saw and wrote about was the truth and were willing to die for it. 3+ years is a long time to pull off a scam and convince people they were seeing miracles but it is within the realm of possibilities. And as you pointed out, 39 HGers believed they would be going to a UFO after they offed themselves (though I question whether they'd persist through torture and painful death) and Jim Jones followers drank the Kool-aid.

2B. They were so freaked out after their leader was crucified that they had mental breakdowns and imagined a resurrection, miracles, etc. Thus deluded, they were willing to die for what they believed. This is the option that makes the most sense to me, from a believer's standpoint, though I obviously don't subscribe to that explanation. In both 2A and B, they would have been dying for something they believed to be true but were deluded. This is the Heaven's Gaters and Jim Jones and Koresh followers, et al.

3. This was all made up much later by someone else. I hesitate to list this one because it isn't supported by manuscript dating.

4. It was the truth and thus worth dying for. This is the option y'all can't buy.

I understand non-belief -- I didn't leave all my brains at the church door. My analysis just comes down differently than yours.

End of sermonette of the day. I don't intend to make the FB into my personal soapbox, but y'all do a lot of anti-Christianity preaching so sometimes I have to put my $.02 in.

Now I have to get off line so I can watch The Bachelor (speaking of people who are deluded).

Rev. Fugee
I really didn't mean to pile on with the Christian-bashing. Some of my best friends were baptised. That said, I do think our analyses come down differently. I think that a modified version of 2A is more likely than 2B. But, I do not pretend to know The Truth, at least on this issue.
