Or, like the Palestinians, is Ty denying that historical fact too?????

FDR made most of his statements about staying out of the war in the 1940 campaign, though by the time of the election peacetime conscription was already happening; the invasion of Poland happened in 1939, and the invasion of Belgium and France in Spring and Summer of 1940. At that point, everyone knew Hitler was a brutal meglamaniac and that he was anti-semitic (he had enacted race laws, for example), but there was no public knowledge of genocide.
The first State Department memoranda on the possibility of genocide come in 1942, and the first concentration camps were opened in 1943, but it's hard to say that there was common knowledge among the public until 1944.

I'm just afraid this may be how you actually talk now.
By the way, the weedlet and I were watching a bit of Charlotte's Web last night (I had to switch channels from Rome when she walked into the room) and I finally figured out who it is you've always reminded me of. The silky voice, the big vocabulary, the gams . . . salutations!
Oh yeah, forgot where I was: FDR should have driven the buses to Germany to stabilize the bond market or something.

Still, since I got bored
And started this mess,
My verses may bug you,
But at least I post less.

How about a nice ballad?

Say if you liked Scotish Breakfast tea, or English Breakfast tea better than Irish breakfast tea- would you still drink Irish breakfast tea for political reasons?
Does the IRA disarming change that at all?

I know the answer -
Though tea is drunk lots
by the limeys and micks,
The best is the Scots!
English and Irish blend
Teas you can botch
Up with sugar or milk,
While a Scots blend is Scotch.

Scotish is my favorite, but for some reason it's much rarer here than the other 2. Most companies sell Irish and English here, but only a few sell Scotish.
Do you have a link to the poem?

I've no link to the poem,
So I can't help you dear,
But a link to your tea
I can offer you here.

The Provos drink coffee. That was one of the most significant reasons behind the split in '69.

I thought you had promised
That you would post less.
Your promise as good as
a Clinton's, I guess?
I confess I had penned
several more verses,
but omit them from here
to forestall your curses.

I can identify one worse feeling: When you are conversing with someone who claims to be a die-hard anti-tax free market anti-government Republican, but who thinks we should spend a lot of public money to help poor people, and you say "fuck them, the market will provide," thinking that only an illiterate would miss the irony in that statement, and he misses it.

Where are the defenders of the poor and dispossessed? Is Ty the only compassionate Dem on this board? Are the rest of you just Dems because it is cool, but in reality are just greedy capitalists that don't care about people that are more unfortunate than you?

See above. And try to think harder when you read.

I can post all I want,
So long as I rhyme.
The problem's that rhyming
Gets easier with time.
But Weedy's concern
Is one I share, too:
When I'm drafting contracts
Now verses sneak through.
The root cause is a fancy
My mind lately took:
To write nasty nursery
Rhymes for a book.
Old Father William,
with his very white head,
will be taking Viagra
to stand in his bed,
And you don't want to know
what Jack Sprat and his wife
are eating in my version -
No, not on your life.

For days Ty refused to believe "that was absolutely true" and was demanding cites for days. Just like he demanded cites demonstrating that the buses were flooded. He lives in world where everything that reinforces his preconceived notions of the world do not need evidence, and anything that contradicts his preconceived notion of reality takes four primary sources and one has to be from a left wing loon.

I do apologize eventually
FWIW, once I join AA the archives here prove a big help for completing step 8.

For example, it is common knowledge, accepted by millions (perhaps even billions around the globe) that "Bush Lied and People Died."
Just accept it (and stop asking for proof) so that we can all move on.

Common knowlede.
1) Are you saying that FDR misleading the public about WWII is not common knowledge and needs cites?
2) Even Ty earlier agreed that Bush probably believed there where no WMDs when he released those statements. I believe lying requires Mens Rea. It is another allegation that we do not have proof of yet you want to accept as fact. Just like Bush intentionally mispredicted the budget numbers.
Again, in your world thing that back your preconceived notions of the world don't require evidence where things that do not require overwhelming evidence.
