Mmmmmmm...and low-rise jeans too, right?
God bless Texas.

No jeans. I hold that my rhinestone top constitutes a dress if I pull it down far enough.

I remember the conversation about killing the heroine, but I can't remember the exact phrasing.
I've always liked Nicole Kidman, but it's not like she's been in that many roles where you could really see her acting talents -- but I thought she was fabulous in "The Others" as well. I will confess that I could not understand the hoopla over "La Boheme" (that's not what it was called, was it?). It was ok -- but I didn't get whatever was behind the abundance of praise for her performance -- not that it was bad, just not worthy of all that gushing.

Well, I've seen her in a few bombs too, but that is another story.
I remember the scene with the servants; great stuff. They made it seem like she was trapped in a prison where the guards could pretend she was the warden. I loved the train station scene towards the end too. Anyway, bottom line for me is it was an unforgettable character.
So, just as a random question (I may take you up on an answer if you have one), what movie would you recommend under the following conditions:
1.) You think its a great movie;
2.) Nobody below the age of (45?) appreciates it, except you;
3.) At some point, either audiences, critics or the academy loved it.
Well, not nobody, but you know... barely anybody.
Anything come to mind?

Britzkrieg
When is this album coming out? Will it be come and gone by like next week? Every time I turn on the tv, I have to see a promo for a behind the music, or dateline, or e special on this gal whose sell by date will be a week after her new album doesnt sell. I am sick of the annying singing voice, the sugary southern accent and quick quips about the *kiss* and growing up in the spotlight. Didnt she go away for liek a year bc she was overexposed and had bad sales? did she learn NOTHING from JHo (who must be silently thanking lil Brit)? When will this be over? She is like an E True Hollywood story at warp speed. From failed sales to exodus to nudity to lesbian bullshit to regret in like nine months. Make it stop.

Dr. Zhivago
Last night I caught the last hour of the Masterpiece Theater remake of Dr. Zhivago, and I wish there had been a viewer warning (I've never seen the original). By the end I was bawling so hard I couldn't breathe. And then, when I reenacted certain scenes by way of explaining why I was crying, I started to cry again.* Then I laughed -- I am usually a sap, but sad movies make me well up and sniffle a bit, not bawl. This was ridiculous. Maybe it's PMS?
In keeping with the icy Russian landscape theme, I then watched National Geographic's Ice Dogs. Brrr.
Finally, just to keep this on topic and check if y'all are still reading, the remake also featured Keira (Hi Slave) Knightley's boobies.
Spoiler, sort of: the reenactment required me to clutch my heart and fall to the floor. It was very moving.

Poor thing. I haven't yet watched last night's episode, since the Cowboys were playing at the same time.
I adore King of the Hill. It's hard to explain the attraction. Part of it is the dead-on depiction of actual Texans. Part of it is the local references. Generally, I like the characters. Peggy plays the part of the normally stupid husband and father. Everyone tries their best and often fall short. It's not the Simpsons or South Park -- the satire is often of the sitcom form itself.

WDPCD?
So, between my general news obsession and my specific need to watch BBC World News every day, preferably twice, I really want to know what Prince Charles is alleged to have done. I know that there is a gag order on British media about it, but we're not British. I assume it's some sex thing, but I can't find it via google anywhere. Whom is he alleged to have done something to? And what?
My last request for salacious information or pictures was fulfilled quickly, so I'm hoping that, since I'm actually sincere and asking nicely with this one, it will also be quickly satisfied.
Thanks!

Dr. Zhivago
Dammit. I recorded the first four hours and still haven't watched it. Was last night a continuation?

Creepiest Picture Ever
This guy makes Tony Robbins seem normal.
I'm confused. That's not a tan is it? Is this guy trying to get into Harvard a la Soul Man?

He looks like he was coated in butter and baked for a few hours in one of those oven roasting bags. Great look for Thanksgiving.

Sex scandal involving two male aides -- one was raped by another and Charles covered it up. The Age (Australia) has an interesting allegation that Charles is also gay and involved more directly in the scandal: http://news.com.au/common/story_page...E13780,00.html

He's alleged to have made same-sex moves on a royal servant.
