But if I really say it, the radio won't play it.

This was despite much evidence to the contrary, and of course I appreciated at some level that people in other countries used heroin, but what was stuck in my brain was unfortunately stuck in my brain.

So when I was 19 or so, and this girl told me that her boyfriend had a heroin problem, one of the first things I asked was "Oh, is he German?" She was not expecting that question.
From the anti-drug films in elementary school, I learned that all heroin addicts are black people. Are there a lot of African-Americans in Germany?

I was a very naive but well-read child. I had a VERY difficult time acknowledging that heroin was a bad drug when the heroines of the books I read seemed to be good and inspirational.

I also got in trouble in fourth grade when some boys wrote the word FUCK on a piece of paper and asked me to pronounce it. I said it was not a word, but if it were a word it would be pronounced "fuck." They pretended they couldn't hear me so I kept saying it louder, always explaining afterwords that it wasn't even a word so it didn't matter. The teacher eventually understood that I wasn't trying to be difficult but was actually that naive when I started crying and made it clear to her that I honestly thought I was in trouble for being "bossy" or uppity by telling the boys they had spelled a word that did not exist. I had absolutely no idea that it was a bad word.

Why do you think they call it dope?

Agree that LLV can be really funny if you're in the right mood...as opposed to the scene where the kid gets his head blown off in the back of Jules/Vincent's car in Pulp Fiction - that scene is always funny.

It's not a bad word, as long as the two people love each other......and are married.....oh! and have different kinds of genitals.

Okay, i meant which of the really bad propaganda TV movies of the week "don't do drugs" movies was the best.

AND Drugstore Cowboy sort of had an appeal to the lifestyle, and LLV lifestyle gets you a really pretty GF. But i remember christina F. and loved that. I can't really remember if bad things happen becasue of the drugs there though.

I think there was a Dragnet where Friday responded to a complaint of a guy in the park with his face painted blue trying to eat the bark off a tree.

eta video here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xngx8_dragnet-lsd

Upon review, his pupils don't look nearly large enough.

I saw an anti-drug film in grade school that featured Roy from Emergency going through withdrawl. So it's not all black Germans.

The only anti-drug film I remember involved, in the only scene I can remember, a kid on angel dust (PCP!) jumping off a freeway overpass.

That was aTV episode, not movie, although I think there was a Dragnet movie where he was after drug guys. If we open the door to TV Episodes the My 3 Sons where Chip accidentally huffs gasoline is the best one.

Cage's whole performance was derivative of Hanks' brilliant turn in Family Ties.

this is tougher than I thought. Male only with female, female only with male, those are easy, but can shape shifter be with either or neither?

It doesn't hold a candle to the hash brownie episode of Barney Miller.
