Kathy Bates Should Not Go Topless

I have never seen such a public display on the sidewalks before and I will take off my shirt in protest if it keeps up.
I watched About Schmidt last night. Kathy Bates' nude scene was unnecessary, very unnecessary.

Almost makes me want to put my house on the market so I can get him as my agent and ask him what it feels like to have been somebody once. I guess I missed it when all of the has-been hip-hoppers were invited to move down here.

Welcome to Atlanta where the player's play -- or lose it all and end up selling houses in East Cobb.

edited to say that I had to spoil this by wondering about the legal implications of using "New Edition" in the ad. Somedays I just can't shut the legal shit off. I need to start drinking more and much earlier in the day.

I recall basketball practice in 8th grade where they'd split us into shirts v. skins. I always had to guard this tall kid who dribbled with his back to the defender and his back was covered in bacne. I couldn't even guard the motherfucker. I'd just hand him the lane praying he'd turn around. Doing suicides was better than chancing having his back bump into me.
Now, there have been some pretty revolting topics discussed ad nauseum (literally) on this board, but for some reason, this very colorful (that's supposed to be zit-color) description totally turned my stomach.

Congratulations, SD, your post is most definitely among the top-grossing posts of the year (on my own personal list anyway -- feel free to print out this coveted award and hang it on your refrigerator)!!

Roberts might be the most overrated, overhyped non-godess to waste gobs of screen time in the past 20 years. Charlize is a classic conservative beauty.

If you ran into Charlize and Julia in street clothes with no makeup, you'd probably assume Theron was a starlette hanging out with her assistant.

Trading Spaces sucks. It was fun for the first season, but it's just so tiresome.

A better show, the secret addiction in my family, is designer's challenge. Real people work with real designers and spend real money to get a problem room redone. You get to see three different designer proposals, with explanations of why they are choosing different options. Another great choice is Design on a Dime -- 1500 budget, real designers, they show the shopping and color choices.

Trading Spaces is all drama, no design.

Legal implications? It's the grammatical implications about which Mr. DeVoe should be worried.

Dropping like flies

Hume Cronyn, one of the foremost character actors of the American stage and screen for more than 60 years, died on Sunday at his home in Fairfield, Conn. He was 91.

Cronyn, a compact, restless man who was once an amateur boxer and remained a featherweight 127 pounds all his life, was at home in everything from Shakespeare and Chekhov to Albee and Beckett. Among his notable Broadway successes were "A Delicate Balance," "The Gin Game" and "Coward in Two Keys."

He was nominated for an Oscar for the 1944 film "Seventh Cross" with Spencer Tracy. More than 40 years later, when he was in his 70s, he won fresh recognition on film as Joe Finley, one of a group of elderly people who seek eternal youth in the popular movies "Cocoon" and "Cocoon: The Return."

The biggest problem with this picture of Iggy Pop is, unfortunately, not the shirtlessness:

Wasn't it supposed to be a play on the fact that he was in New Edition?

I will wait right here for TM to slap me in the back of the head for taking things too literally. :mixed:

Set your Tivo

This week, cable's BBC America is repeating all six half-hours of that first season [of The Office] -- three episodes in rotation nightly at 10 p.m. EDT, Monday, June 16, through Saturday, June 21.

I missed it the first time around. Hopefully I won't repeat that mistake...

When did Iggy die? Somebody should sue the taxidermist on this one.

I love Iggy's music but he should just realize that he has a perfect face and bod for radio.

edited to delete the picture because it was creeping me out.

I still don't know why he attacked the KC Royals first base coach...

Now that is a perfect response.

Still, I'd rather look at his body than gaze at that death mask on top of his shoulders.
