Look at the "barely kerry" and "barely bush" states. 97 votes. plenty big swing. statisitically meaningless.

eta: curiously, bush seems to have gotten a bounce from F911

This un's purdier!

Your "map" is centered on the 100 "barely Kerry" votes. The charecterization is of course on one of the most biased webpages around. I'm willing to offer out the same action Ty has if you want.

97, 108 -- who cares?

ETA after f911 was released, bush stayed steady for a while and then went down. Kerry went down.

Are you ill? Or just very distracted? This is unlike you.

RE-ETA that apparently some states briefly seceded after f911 was released, because the lines cease to be mirror images.

MM gave Castro the film and it aired on Cuban state owned TV. I am sure that won't help Kerry with the Florida vote.

Just stirring up the shit.

Can't you confine your utter and complete idiocy to boards where you do, slowly and painfully, at least read? This is such old news it might have come out before your last bath. Plus someone already posted links to the article, I think.

too many intervening factors. at that point it was the pretty boy bouncing kerry. but it looks to me like the blue line goes down right across the release date.

You need glasses. Both red and blue are flat/even for a bit after the release date, which is helpfully marked with a dotted brown line.

I'm still confused by the apparent secession.

You assume everyone sees the movie the day it's released? Elsewhere on the site they explain there's always about five days' lag from a news event (which, unlike a movie, has an effect on people's perceptions all at once) and the news release of the pollsters. Plus, the EV tally reflects the website's own tally, which would be a day or so later than the release of the poll result. Bottom line: expect a lag. Such as the convention.

The missing EVs are likely due to straight-up ties, which are white on the map but probably don't go into the total on the graph.

You need to learn colors. After the short period, which way does the blue line initially go? Is my monitor wacky?

No thanks. I have to spread the risk in my sock portfolio, e.g. Gin Rummy couldn't cover the vig on whether the Abu Ghraib story had legs.

No, Castro showed it on his TV station on a different day.

Both are even for a short period, then Bush stays even, though Kerry loses*, perhaps b/c of ties as posited by Atticus, then Kerry starts gaining steadily and Bush goes in the trash where his beady-eyed ass belongs.

*if you are interpreting this as a bounce for Bush, I guess that is vaguely legitimate but it's really just a sign of indecision, IMHO.

We could compromise and say that Kerry appears to have been hurt initially by the release of F911, which seems odd.

But not nearly as much bounce as some had predicted, considering how vile that America-hating MM is. Obviously the Bush campaign is faltering.

And? He voted for Nader in 2000 and seems to do little except trade off his name and antagonize his family...

Who really cares what he thinks?
