The Container Store, it's like going to a Bed, Bath & Beyond that doesn't have the towels, bed linens, picture frames, kitchen stuff, and candy at checkout.

 | Anyone with 1/4 ounce of brains can cobble the same results at 1/3 the price out of a trip to Wal Mart. |

 | I opened the site for the google video, but I couldn't watch it (and not for technical reasons). I guess I'm becoming too much of a softie in my old age.

 | It's atrocious. I don't have Amy Vanderbilt's guide to hanging etiquette handy, but I have to believe its a breach of propriety to have fat men in ski masks administer the noose and taunt the hangee - one of them appearing to wear a circa 1987 pleather Members Only jacket.
Even as a low budget indie flick, I have to give it three thumbs down. Contrary to Pony, I think the shoddy camera work was its sole saving grace, giving it a smattering of "Blair Witch"-type grit.

The Ford Funeral's a bloated non-event. It's like watching a "Winds of War" length tribute to the man who invented gravel.

 | A "members only" jacket? How John Hughes. I feel like "if you leave: should start playing.

 | pfft. The box for the toys is really cute. And it's closer than a WalMart. And nowhere else have I been able to find a step stool that is narrow enough to fit between the refrigerator and the cabinet. I have been looking for 2 years.

I overbought and have stuff to return. Also need a lower box for other storage.

 | That is the "danger" of that store. you get carried away at the uniqueness of the items and overbuy. I did. I ended up dropping like 300 when I really should have spent 100. I took a lot back.

 | One can only hope that Shi'a executioners will be getting some more aerobic exercise this year.

 | I am only taking back what I anticipated taking back (bought several basket-y things for a drawer, knowing not all would fit; bought two different kinds of magnets for the refrigerator b/c wasn't sure if the cheaper kind would work, but it does). Knew that since I didn't measure anything, something wouldn't fit.

I think I've gotten better at the store through repeated exposure. It was right next to the B&N that was my primary bookstore in Dallas, and the overshopping only happened to me the first few times.

 | Going to WalMart makes me cry. We bought a Christmas tree stand there and I ended up having to take it back when we found a better one at Target for the same price. The return line made me cry. And gave the guy in front of me high blood pressure. I should have just thrown the damn thing away for all the hassle it turned out to be.
