no shit. Whiny baby. Unbelievably ironic how you characterize my view as "shove it down your throat."

Where? I'm hungry.

Well then thank God that Honda can still call it a Christmas party.

Let me guess, its your need for chocolate that made you write this? Or the snot in your nose?

Oh, go fuck yourself, you bigoted fuck. Honda may have whatever important Japanese holiday party (or shinto, or whatever, ask Spanky) and ignore the December holiday party.

My company does not seem to have anything fun or significant or festive in December. At least not the part I work in.

Kids wouldn't have a Dreidle break from school at a less than halfway point for the school year and business wouldn't be relying on the fucking winter to make their sales goals for the year.

Its a freakin' Christmas party. Drink the booze, eat the free food, and watch the hot secretary in the goofy ass red and green stockings make a fool of herself when she dances rather inapprorpiately with the managing partner.

I'm not exactly a rabid MOT, and I'm not very PC either. However, this post struck me as more than a bit arrogant. If there were no Christmas, there would be the Hannukah and Winter Solstice celebrations that went on for millenia before some Jewish carpenter decided to become an Uber-Mensch (I know, another umlaut opportunity pissed away forever).

I understand he attracted enough other Jews to form a sect that hasw become quite popular in the last couple thousand years.

It's not about being sensitive about what the holiday party is called. It's about the firm making an effort to recognize the people who work there. To acknowledge that yes, people who don't worship or celebrate the way we do are welcome here (at the firm) too. What I don't understand is av's attitude and I see it every year at the party and beyond. "Fuck that. I'm not calling this a holiday party. That's stupid. This so totally is a Christmas party, dude! Last I looked it was December and no one I know has a Chanukah party!"

Yeah. We wouldn't ever want to think about the way we interact with people out of a <gasp> fear of offending them, would we?

TM
What THE FUCK is the asterisk for??? Totally leave me hanging here.

Is there any hand or head gesture, or facial expression, that goes with the "step back and let ______ handle my light work" thing? Because that would help.

I have been cordially invited to a holiday reception hosted by the President. I suspect punch and cookies will be involved. The invitation has a poinsettia on it.

Incidently, do you think this display is a tribute to the birth of our lord and savior thebabyjesuschristsuperstar amen or just an opportunity to show off and/or audition for an a/v position on Broadway? http://mysite.verizon.net/tlwright6/wmv/wow.htm (spree: sound, and holy shit!)

I'm pretty much left dumbstruck. I just strung some lights around the front porch and put a solar timer on them.
