I agree that I would probabaly find Liv Tyler more attractive than Mia in a lingerie photo spread, I would not either one out from under the covers. And I certainly wouldn't go attributing some inherent moral or social superiority to Liv based on her dress size.
They both have the same eyes, capable of being both innocent and alluring at the same time. And those are what I find myself drawn to to begin with.
I just find the whole obssession with size rEdiculous to begin with. Too much either way is unattractive.

Taxwonk,
You're my new hero/crush. Because of this quote and because I was away for a few days and it has taken me HOURS to read what I missed on this board. Jesus, how is a person supposed to get any work done??
And no way is that picture JFF posted of C cup boobies like "she" claims she has. More evidence that it's a guy who doesn't know WTF he's talking about.
(Happy to see the etiquettist formerly known as DS has finally arrived.)

I am saying that there is a disconnect between what fashion designers and casting agents consider sexy and what red-blooded straight men consider sexy. I see the link to MM that you keep posting, and I agree that MM looks hotter than Gwenyth Paltrow. My point, and it's a simple one, is that fashion designers and casting agents disagree with you, me, and most of heterosexual male America.

Are you saying those are B's or D's?
When I got measured for bras at Victoria's Secret, they determined my cup size by measuring under my breast and around my ribcage. Then they measured around my nipple. They subtracted the two. If the difference is 3", that is a C-cup.
I buy C cups and they fit. A B cup puts a dent in my breast and makes it look like my breasts are bulging out of the bra. A D cup is too big. That makes me a C-cup.
That model looks like a C cup to me. She might be on the small side of C, but she is definitely more than a B and less than a D.

This is the new contender for favorite sock of all time, vying to displace "Sock re: blue", which has been at the top of the list for a long, long time.

Okay. That makes sense. But how do you explain J Lo then? Yes, she's not fat. Yes, she has a flat stomach.
But that ass.
That is not a hollywood ass. It is at least three times the size of what you and I would consider the norm in Hollywood. Her legs are quite thick too. Not fat-thick. But thick in any way doesn't usually fit the Hollywood stereotype, right?
Beyonce has a similar build. She is being cast because that line may be shifting. It's not going to happen over night, but if Anna Nicole could magically transform herself to what she looked like in her prime, she would be up there too. Each is an example of non-stereotypical body types. Aside from Anna (who is doing "well" for a different reason), each of these women is doing quite well. I would argue that they are doing well precisely because heterosexual men like these builds (among other reasons of course).
Surely if there is a place near or at the top of Hollywood today for those body types, there would be a place for Marilyn. I can't believe I'm arguing with anyone about this. Like RT said, she is timeless. Some beauty transcends trends.

I am just wondering what people's reactions are to the moniker. I thought it was a clever play on words, but . . . if the expression off which it plays were not based on a racial stereotype (that is, if race were not an issue at all) it would be an excellent moniker. But if one finds the underlying expression offensive -- which may depend on the speaker and the context -- then is the moniker also offensive? Since on a chat board most people know nothing about the people behind the monikers, it's tough to judge the speaker and the context.
As I write this I am so worried about saying something offensive or ignorant or coming off as overly PC or not PC enough that I realize very few people are likely to want to discuss this and I probably never should have brought it up.
And is it disrespectful to Justice Black? Or is there some lore that he was, uh, well endowed?
Edited to say, "Or perhaps I worry too much," after posters with penises (penis envy?) piped up to vote funny.

Non-stereotypical for caucasions of european descent. Closer to the norm for hispanics and african-americans.

I would say those breasts are B cups. I am a C cup and FWIW, when I went to Victoria's Secret, they kept trying to give me some bras that looked like an 18-hour bra. I concluded that their bras and/or their sales process sucked and went elsewhere.
Oh, and the Hugo Black thing kinda offends me but maybe that's because I've had people say shit like that to me when I, a white woman, was dating a black man. Quite objectifying of a man I loved.

Mainly, I watch whatever you tell me to watch. Unless there is a new episode of Buffy on, in which case, I watch that. Of course soon that will be off the air, and I will just watch what you tell me to watch.
Oh, I forgot. I watch Queer as folk. Which really isn't a very good show, but you know, desperate to see some sort of reflection so I watch it. How sad is that.
And I am too tired to decide if the Hugo thing is offensive or funny. It didn't make me laugh, but I was too thick to get it.

I watched a clip of her new video today -- scenes from Flashdance. It was icky. She's too wide and showed the ass to poor effect.
Even(of course, I am a chick, so others may disagree)Odds
