Absolutely nothing to do with the FAA

Why does a contractor bother to make an appointment to give you an estimate and then not show up? And not even call?

Do they think they will still get the business? Are they so fucking busy that they don't need the work? What the fuck?

I would like to add to my list of professions that I fucking hate, contractors. Fucking wasting my morning from 8 until 12. Fuckers.

I take it you have never lived in Westchester county. That kind of behavior is de rigueur for contractors there. Sometimes they deign to show up, most of the time they don't.

The answer is, yes, they are so busy they don't need the work. At least where I used to live.

Fuckers.

Contractors on the whole are inherently unreliable. Sometimes it is because they are so fucking busy they don't need the work. Sometimes they're just flakey. I know some who are really nice guys, and competent tradesmen, but just flakey by nature.

Of course, some contractors are evil motherfuckers. My neighbors are going through a fairly significant addition. General told them they would never have to be out of the house. They've been living in an apartment since Thanksgiving. If you're looking for charter members of your "I hate contractors" club, my neighbors would happily join.

Inappropriate Questions/Chappelle's Show

Somewhat along the lines of our discussion of inappropriate things said on a first date --

I encountered a female law school friend of mine on the street today I hadn't seen in a couple of years. Started talking about friends, family... got to kids. I said I had two, and she said she just had their third. She then informs me that her husband (who I also know) just had a vasectomy. Thanks for sharing. She then goes on to ask if I had as well. Does she really need to know this??

In other news... started watching Chappelle's Show based on board recommendations. Laughing my ass off.

"I'm Wayne Brady, bitch!!!"

Wayne Brady? Must be a new one. The only one I know is the Rick James skit.

So far as I can tell, they think only one job ahead at any time. So, if they have another job already lined up you're a waste of their time. Of course, they have no recognition that just perhaps they might want another job after they're done with the next one. They always are much more kiss ass when there's no business. A painter couldn't wait to get started last time I asked for an estimate on some work. "So, we'll start tomorrow, yes?"

Okay, I'm with you on this one.

I tried for roughly 14 months to get a contractor to do some work at my previous home. After several false starts we got an estimate that we approved. But never a firm date to start the work. Then, after not hearing from the guy for three months, we'd get a call along the lines of "Hi, it's us, and we can start that work tomorrow." They managed to make that call twice while we were on vacations; by the time we could call back, they had vanished back into the contractor-ether.

This wasn't a huge job, but I had though that contractors during a recession would be more eager. Hell, I'd have worked harder to capture a client offering that same amount of money, if only to build a relationship.

Well, if you are with me on this one, I clearly must have gotten it wrong.

This past week's episode guest stars Wayne Brady... Didn't put spoiler space in since it's been on a week now.

I had no idea that people felt strongly about this issue. I mean, isn't it a given that 50-80% (there is likely a geographical variance in the exact percentage - I'd guess the % is higher here in Texas, for example) of blonde women are bottle blondes? And why would blonde (really, light brown) pubes be somehow more appealing than darker ones? Why are darker ones "gross"? I find this odd. Enlighten me, please.
As the only one who voiced any kind of repulsoni with it, for me its just that it screams dyed hair. i am not talking someone with light brown hair with highlights or something, but a drastic difference. Like Nicole Kidman with Meadow Soprans's bush. It would be nasty. It reminds me of things like trailer parks, blue eyeshadow and bad skin.

But remember, I am not a gay and one reason I am not a gay is that bushes in general squick me out. Dark coarse brilloey hair grosses me out. and i guess seeing black bush contrasted with really light hair would only servce to make the dark, coarse brillo aspect that much more outstanding.

or maybe it stems from seeing a scary ass discomitt on skinemax when I was a kid and I just dont remember. I dont have the dark, coarse brillo stuff myself so its kind of foreign to me. Not to get all pube-fabulous on you, but the alst time I got a brazilian, the waxer said, why would you want to remove this hair, its so nice? my ex preferred me to have it as well- the only one who expressed a preference.

Not all muffs have dark coarse brilloey hair (even in the unwaxed, untended state). Clearly you haven't sampled enough.
