Speaking of that, poor Chicago.
3rd longest drought: Cleveland: 1948
White Sox: 1917
Cubs: 1908

But, yeah, the Cardinals didn't show up for four straight games. Just like the Yankees didn't after winning 19-8.

Bullshit. But, of course, you know that. The Yankees fought in games four and five. That's showing up. They just got beat. The Cardinals were pathetic all four games.

The Cards were shut down - whether they showed up or not, coming off the Yankees, the Sox were unstoppable.
But, whatever the Cards did or didn't do, they don't inherit the mantle the Sox have thrown off; that mantle has passed to the Yankees. That was one incredible CHOKE you guys did. It was a CHOKE that surpasses every Red Sox choke in history. It was incredible.
And our MVP learned to play virtually in the shadow of Yankee Stadium.
You heard it here first. The mantle, and the curse, have passed to the hubris-filled Yankees.
I can't wait until next year!

Partial dissent. They clearly showed up in Game 1.
And how much of their lack of offensive production is based upon them not showing up versus good pitching from the Sox? Larry (Blame Canada!) Walker hit well. And they -- especially Pujols -- made some plays in the field.

Before you do anything rash, allow me to put it in some perspective for you, my friend.
You're just talking baseball. Cleveland hasn't won a championship in any major sport since 1964.
Kill me now.

Keep this up, and you're going to make me hate the Sox almost as much as I hate the Yankees.
Don't be a dick. It only took you 86 years, right?

Hey, it's fine by me if Cleveland ends up clobbering the Yankees next year. As long as they're clobbered.

I can see where it could lead to some misunderstandings if you were calling out his during sex. Maybe he should stay in St. Louis.

I hate the Yankees, and started the Sox/Yankees series wanting the Sox to win. Once I had caught a look at the Sox that changed. There is this practiced scruffiness to them, that is obviously contrived. From the individually assigned beards/ Fabio hair to the pine tar mess on the helmets, they just seem like jerks.

For you to bother typing "don't be a dick" to him shows you don't read PB. And you're exactly right. Gloating the first time you happen to beat the team that has owned you just shows that you realize it likely ain't going to happen again for awhile.

Anyone interested in a "Throw mama from the train" deal?
I need to bodily maim someone in another state (To the FBI / Secret Service people reading: not your guy, no worries, move on to some other person ranting on the internet), and I'm looking for volunteers to go rough this person up so a) he doesn't know that I had anything to do with it, and b) the person on whose behalf I'm having him roughed up has no idea that I had anything to do with it.
Word of warning: the person on whose behalf I'm having the guy roughed up is unaccountably, and despite her best interests, in love with the guy, and she may try to stop you from hurting him. Don't hurt her. Do what you will to him.
I'd do it myself, except she'd clue in immediately that his ending up in the ER and my being in her state isn't entirely coincidental.
I'll be happy to rough up someone in Houston in exchange.
