The iPhone will be EDGE only, and won't integrate as well with corporate email systems.

IT guy just confirmed this (he is probably reading along with me.....hi J!). I may go for a switch out of 700p to 700w and wait to see if and when Verison gets 750. I am loathe to make the jump to Cingular for a 750.

You can buy an unlocked 750 and use it on TMo as well.

Mobile Broadband

Is it worth giving up my cable connection for?

After a month of being on the road and hampered by no internet access, I'm pondering signing up for mobile broadband. Anyone have any experience with it? Sprint's got a good deal on now.

Do it. Do it now.

I have that and it's great. You can work anywhere, you don't have to use the hotel's internet or pay a fee and it works in every airport I've tried.

Two things to consider, because I'm sure NFH did not cancel her home broadband. One--speed is not as fast as home cable. Second--I have seen, but am not personally familiar with, complainst that some cos. will cancel users who use "too much" service--that is are using it all the time as opposed to frequent, but intermittent road use.

If your phone is on a fast network, using it as a modem for the times when wifi is not available is not a bad alternative. fwiw, ymmv.

PC/Outlook/whatever question

I like to have two sets of Outlook running at one time so that I can drag things easily and look at my calendar and email at the same time and stuff. They did something to my computer and now when I try to open it a second time, it just takes me to the already open screen. I tried holding down ctrl and alt and ctrl + alt and shift and all other combinations, and I can't get it to open a second screen.

Anyone know how to do this?

Dish or Cable?

The AT&T folks came a-kocking and told Mrs. Wonk how much cheaper the new dish network is than digital cable. Last time I looked, sattelite was nice, as long as the wind wasn't blowing and it wasn't raining and cable modems were about 2-4x as fast as DSL.

Anybody out there have a different view to share?

Sweet. The launch display brought back memories of Larry Bird in the 3-point contest.

What the hell are you doing posting clips of beer launching fridges? You should be out looking at penguins. Penguins!

Is this your work machine? They probably locked Outlook so that only one instance is allowed to run at a time.
