I took solace that it was his last batter and the worst was papelbon with a 3 run lead. Panic? No more.

BTW, I enjoyed seeing craig sager get pwned by steven king:

Sager: What are you reading? One of your own?
King: Why would I read one of my book? I know how it comes out.
Sager: something or other
King: And it's great to read books during games. You can read 18 pages just between innings. And now that fox has the games you can read 27 pages, because of the extra commercials.

Uh, back to Tim in the booth, indeed.

I once wondered how it was that stout Cortez stared at the Pacific, given that it was actually Balboa.

Maybe it was protected opinion.

Now I understand your "wife's" selection of this latest avatar. Brava for exorcising those demons!

Deus, in nómine tuo salvum me fac,
et virtúte tua age causam meam.

Deus, audi oratiónem meam;
áuribus pércipe verba oris mei.

Nam supérbi insurréxunt contra me, et violénti quasiérunt vitam meam;
non proposuérunt Deum ante óculos suos.

Ecce, Deus ádjuvat me,
óminus susténtat vitam meam.

Retórque malum in adversários meos,
et pro fidelitáte tua déstrue ilos.

Voluntárie sacrificábo tibi,
celebrábo nomen tuum, Dómine, quia bonum est.

Nam ex omni tribulatióne eripuit me,
et inimícos meos confúsos vidit óculos meus.

Glória Patri.

Fashion sucess story.

A few months back several of you mocked people who wore jeans to a health club. I speculated that perhaps the person was travelling and packed poorly.

This weekend I was in Philly suburbs. I brought 1 pair of running shorts. I planned to run in them Saturday and Sunday morning, with a dry out in between. Instead, my wife convinced me to wash them Saturady at the in-laws. So I did. They were washed and beginning to be dried as went to lunch. i didn't know at the time but the M-I-L doesn't like to have the dryer runing while out of the apartment, so when we got back the clothes were still wet.

My son wanted to lift at the Abington YMCA, so i drove him there- wearing jeans! I was going to lift with him, but first I dropped him off and went to the nearest store (an Old Navy) to get some shorts that looked a little workout proper.

So anyway, this board saved me from a fashion faux pas, as I would have worked out in jeans if not for your warnings.

i do wonder whether it might have been acceptable given the particular location though. also, i feel vindicated for my initial sympathy for those people who might be wearing jeans, and mindful that there could be a host of reasons that could justify the look.
