So where would you go if you had just a quick 3 day weekend in February, your starting point was on the West Coast and upcoming vacation opportunities were scarce? My potential list so far:
Cabo
Vegas
Santa Barbara
Catalina (is there much to do there?)
Don't bother with ski trip destinations. We don't swing that way.
ETA: No, it is not the weekend of the lavish Shavedornot Ball, so that's not an option.
|
Santa Barbara will probably be cold.
Vegas will be cold, too. But at least there's more to do indoors. And aren't you sick of Vegas yet?
I have only seen Catalina on the Travel channel and Amish in the city. Seems cute enough, some night life. May also be cold in Feb.

Too bad I forgot most of the liberal knowledge I had about the Old Testament. Sarah and Ruth had a lot to say back in the day.

I once stayed at a hotel where there was the National Mary Kay convention. Many times we were stuck in elevators with overly perfumed, overly made-up and overly hairsprayed women in their 50s.
Once I was tempted to ask if anyone had a lipstick, but held back because I figured that would get me the sales pitch from hell.

Sick of Vegas? Ha. I am leaning towards Cabo. Sounds like you agree.

FYI. A friend an I recently looked into spending a weekend in February in Cabo and were dismayed to find all the not-gross hotels were sold out. Perhaps you'll be luckier than we....

1. You have no idea what my father is all about.
2. I'm pretty sure her father isn't all about that.
3. So what a woman's father is all about should have some bearing on how the woman behaves?
4. Take it to politics.

What about PV? Flight's not that much longer, and it will be warmer than Cabo. Either sounds real good right now, though. Of course, Vegas always sounds good. Also, if you can make the dates work, there are some crazy good deals to Oahu from the left coast right now; Waikiki (sp?) is actually a pretty workable long weekend from the west.

When I scanned this, all I saw was "finally found a way to suck me"
I was disappointed when I read the whole thing.

This morning the elevator at my apartment reeked of bad perfume. Another woman got on at a lower floor and I felt I had to make the standard "this reekage isn't me" disclaimer.

Monday at 11:05, I think. On Spike TV. They rerun it several times during the week though.

My Oscar dream

My Oscar Predictions (with the warning that I have seen none of these films):
BEST PICTURE - The Aviator
BEST DIRECTOR - Scorsese
BEST ACTOR - Jamie Foxx
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR- Morgan Freeman
BEST ACTRESS - Hilary Swank
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS - Natalie Portman
BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY - Sideways
BEST OF THE REST - Who cares
Nominees here.

It pisses me off no end that the best reviewed movie of the year gets shoved into a "best animated film" category and didn't get a best picture nod like it deserved.

I was in Vegas once during a Phish concert, and every Phishhead in Vegas decided to quintiple up in the hotel I was staying. Elevator rides were quite pungent.

Clever the way you played it off as though you were not one of the phishters.

That's what you get for staying downtown or at the Stratosphere!
