Carl Weathers, America is calling you.
Fuck no. Hunting humans is tiring enough as it is. Hunting them and asking for their votes? I'm goin' nowhere near that action.
Serving humanity in politics is soooooo boring, especially when you can serve humanity for dessert. I'm leaving the politics to ShapeShifter. God knows he has time for it.
Sonny always was a little shit on the set. Once his opponent finds out about him and that goat, it's all over anyway.

Ghod you fuckers must be bored
I spend a single day working and return to find that paigow sees my face in ev'ry sock and Thurgreed spent all day trying to find that picture of my dashing self at the St. Patrick's Day parade. I'm flattered by your adoring attention, I really am. But there's no need to stumble all over yourselves so embarrassingly to curry (mmmmmm - curry) my favor, because there's plenty of me to go around. Even more so since I started on the Puff Penske Playaz Wine and Cheese Fat Cat diet. Got a ways to go before all I can fit into is a kilt, though.
Oh, and stick the fucking cork back in the bottle of wine and stop obsessing already. The Fab Five isn't coming over and make you feel all prole for not having the latest Sharper Image electronic gas-injecting cork replacer, FFS.

In case anyone is really sick
There's a link to the beheading video at Tom Leykis' radio show web site. I have not watched it, I do not plan to. But if you want to, there it is.

WTF is wrong with people that they would watch this? Are you that fucking sick and depraved? Isn't the description good enough to know what happened?

Once again America produces a travesty. I'm disgusted.
Granted, both divas (and I would most definitely NOT classify either Diana or Jasmine as a diva) had one fantastic and one less-than-stellar song choice last night, but come on, people!
Jasmine was plain awful last night, and Diana was nowhere near as good as the judges seemed to think she was. I would love love love to have her perform next to a white girl who actually can sing, like, say, Kelly Clarkson. Then maybe the stupid white people who "don't get why black people can't just sing the notes" (a paraphrase of an ignorant relative of the SFC's) would realize that their favorites in the competition SUCK.
But no, I'm not bitter. HA! I'm still bitter from last week. I could have given George lots of people to listen to and emulate besides Cab Calloway, like Joe Williams, Billy Eckstine and, yes, Nat King Cole. When you're a soul king, you don't try to sing an Irving Berlin song most closely associated with the ultimate white singer, Fred Astaire.
Which brings me back to last night's song choices. The only person who should have attempted The Weather Girls is Fantasia (or Jennifer could have, had she still been around). Anything by the BeeGees, in spite of the passionate lyrics, is just too musically cool to work in a competition where being emotionally overwrought is rewarded. And curses on Fantasia for resurrecting one-hit wonder Bonnie Tyler. Feh.

PS RT, I was the one who posted the pics of the Urban Outfitters boots. Glad you like them.

I didn't watch the results show because it was obvious to me that Jasmine would be going home. Her performance of "It's Raining Men" was terrible. And because it is one of my favorite disco songs, it was painful. It isn't as if it was a rare bad evening for her that voters could overlook; she's been sucky for several weeks now and should have gone home ahead of Jennifer Hudson, George Huff and probably even John Stevens.
Imagine my surprise to look online and see that the two best singers left in the competition were the bottom two. Boooo.

If the Economist - a magazine to which I subscribe and which is usually hovers above the rest of the pandering media - can feed the "shock and awe" machine by putting that picture of the ersatz Iraqi "Batman" on its cover under the heading "Resign Rumsfeld", then why wouldn't people want to further rubberneck and descend to the next step and watch poor Nick's bloodcurdling cries whilst the [per Reuters] freedom-fighter posse slowly hack off his head and flood the floor with his blood?
Not so shocking either, with the Boston Globe today showing [indirectly] porn video stills while referring to them as "rape videos of Iraqis". Maybe this yellow-journalist will get a Pulitizer. I can't wait for the next scoop.
Hell, we should make alll of stuff this mandatory viewing. You know, fair and balanced and all that. And to reveal, to everyone yet again, that war is hell.

I don't dispute that war is hell. I just don't get why people are so fucking stupid that they actually need to see that kind of stuff to realize what a threat radical islam is.
Did you need to see the people jump from the WTC to know the horror of what they must have been going through? Did you fucking need to see it? Is just hearing it not enough for you to get the effect?
That is my point. What is wrong with people that they cannot understand these things without visual stimuli.
People are stoopid.

I personally didn't have to as I saw it in person from Broadway and Liberty. As did others around here. Go read our little time capsule on Infirm if you want to refresh.
And yes, I think our bloodlust video game society does need a visual aid for anything to sink in. Do you really think anyone gave a rats ass about the humiliation of Iraqi war criminals before these silly pictures came out?
BTW - move this over to Politics before some small-minded asshole like Paigow complains to my co-Admins.

We saw him that day (between Thursday and Belle and Sebastian) entering the VIP area. Damn if we shouldn't have hung around a few extra minutes.
|
Things I learned from this post:
(1) Andy Dick got popped for pot possession.
(2) Apparently I sat next to ncs for part of Coachella without either of us knowing, as I saw Andy Dick in the VIP area around the same time (maybe a little later).
Other things:
(1) How does the board feel about the band Franz Ferdinand? For those who thought The Strokes weren't Scottish enough, I recommend. Plus, they have some man-crush song, NTTAWWT.
(2) Danger Mouse had a killer set at Coachella. Those SF/SV posters who have the Grey Album should PM me. (Actually one of of you needs to PM me, but still...)
(3) Str8, how do you feel about the KCRW v. Indie 103 issue? Indie 103 is a station that plays indie rock, with a focus on playign stuff that never got on the radio, like the Buzzcocks, Bad Religion, plus new stuff, like the aforementioned Franz Ferdinand.

No worry, she has me on ignore as does everyone else on this board except for you. Tomorrow, you are going to hear all about it when they start cursing you for quoting me. Muaaahhhaahahaha. I love the Re-newbies.

PM'ing Pictures
Is there anyway to PM pictures to people? Not pictures with URLs, but pics you have stored on your computer.
