If Iraq is a sovereign country, why is Bush the one to decide if Iraqi elections will happen in late January? Isn't he showing tremendous disrespect for Allawi by doing this? Doesn't it hurt our efforts to win the war to have the President making public statements indicating that Allawi is a puppet?
|
My thoughts exactly when I saw the front page story in the Post that said "Bush refuses to delay elections."
There isn't a whole lot of room to say Allawi and the governing council had much say in that.

And with all his successes, odd that the news would come out on a Friday evening.

Do you realize how stupid your average post sounds?
"Bush is acting like he is in charge of the country because he wants to ensure that elections happen so that the Iraq people can pick who runs the country."
F'ing imperialist.
I mean, this wasn't as stupid as "I can imagine the science," but its still stupid.
Here's what I imagine- Ty is really the old fluffy sock trying to mislead the lefties. Just cause Ty says something doesn't mean it makes sense- in fact to the contrary if I'm right.

Like all human beings, I do sometimes question myself. Then I read your posts and am reminded that a little human fallibility is better than the supreme arrogance that sometimes accompanies stupidity.

Who said anything about imperialism? This only demostrates the obsurdity of those who got all bent out of shape over people actually admitting the truth - that Allawi is a puppet.

I don't get why people have to turn this into personal attacks. Why not address the merits of my posts instead of calling me stupid? Just because I support the President does not mean I lack feelings.

Allawi is the puppet of the Iraqui electorate, no more than that.

Nicely done:

Besides, you need to have merits to your posts before they can be responded too.

Yes. It is the Iraqi electorate who have veto power over Allawi. Just as they elected him. Oh... wait...
I really don't get why this is a controversial point. He is a puppet. Hopefully he is an interim puppet, but come on. We invade. We put in place a goverment we approve and can control. There is no shame in it. Every invader (or "liberater" if you prefer) does it.
The only shame is the ridiculous attempt to "defend" against the obvious.

I was in Redstateville's airport last nite. Where in the fuck do these people learn to dress? And where do they get their eating habits? I've never seen so much tortured polyester in my whole fucking life. Is it a requirement that most women in red states wear the "Jersey Claw"*? That shit hasn't existed even in NJ since INXS was last on the charts.
