Here's a pitch.....remake Godfather with Ashton as Michael and Phil from Bam as Vito?

1. This is nearly unintelligible. I understand thats the Hank the Angry Drunken Poster shtick, but try to be a little more decipherable than sanskrit.
2. If you're suggesting Slacker is better than Dazed, or that Dazed is not an excellent movie, keep drinking. You need to kill the pile of defective cells behind your sinuses.

Dazed and Confused was disappointing, as a follow up to Slacker. Other than that it was good, but more as a warm and fuzzy reminder of days when you could rock and roll all night and Party every day! Sort of the thinking man's Detroit- Rock City.
That you find D&C better than Slacker suggests that you will enjoy the Bad News Bears remake, and will someday stand on line to see Mr. Farrell's deft handling of Mr. O'Reilly. Perhaps Str8 can scalp you a ticket to the premiere.

When did you become such an effete film snob? D&C was a classic. The movie was funny. The cast was great. The writing was fantastic. And it connected because it offered great stylized charicatures of certain types of people we encountered growing up.
Slacker, OTOH, was an annoying piece of shit. Its Linklater's Eraserhead.
Detroit Rock City? Its a cheap rock and roll knock off of D&C.
And I see no reason Farrell could not pull of Ignatius. What I wonder is why Ignatius is such a revered character to so many. He's funny, and the book is terrific, but he's really unlikeable. So if you hate Farrell, then he'd seem to be perfect for the role of Ignatius.

This is hardly NFH's genre.

The flow of Slacker, from the sort of tag-you're-it plot of changing storylines, was really different than anything I'd ever seen. It was great. D&C was very good, but not anything great or different.

C'mon.
spoiler
you didn't cheer when the bullies got arrested and lost their KISS tix? You didn't like when the repressed boy had sex in the confessional?

He's as broad as Fringey's backside. Ignatious is subltely and hatefully nuts. The bad-guy from Zoolander or the streaker from Old Skool aren't Ignatious.

Fat suit. And I think Farrell's got the range. I think he's got the subtle dramatic abailities of Bill Murray. You'll see them come out in the future as he gets more wide ranging parts.

By happy coincidence, all those bands suck.

What time does Baroque Neurosis hit the stage? Does your t-shirt still fit?

Thank you for the laugh on this otherwise crapola morning.
Is there any fucking cell phone service in London at all? Several of my cousins are still unaccounted for.
And to answer another question, if they play hockey, I will watch it.

I suppose that is fair to ask of the hockey fans on the board. What will it take to get you interested again, or do they merely have to start playing, and all will be forgiven?

I'll be there when they come back -- look for the guy wearing a Craig MacTavish Rangers sweater and holding a "Bettman Sucks!" sign at MSG for the first home game.

Got a friend with relatives in London having the same problem. "All circuits are busy."
