I think Tonks lost it not because of being in love, but b/c of Sirius' death.

FTR, I would totally fuck Tonks. I mean, not pregnant or dead Tonks, anyway.

It's good to know you have standards.

I DO like that in the subsequent interviews JK says she went to play for the all women's quidditch team and is a reporter... the one bug in my craw with this series is the whole single woman =powerful witch, married woman = marshmellow.....
This is all very interesting, the analysis of how ficitional entities of a fictional nature live their lives and whether the books are empowering to real human females. We all remember, a dirt poor mom wrote these books and is now one of the richest people in the UK, right?

Moderately pregnant Tonks would probably be okay. I'd probably get my ass kicked by a warewolf, but still.

I'd say I'd fuck Ginny, too, except that I imagine her in adulthood looking very much like a distant friend who married another distant friend who I summered with a long, long time ago. So Ginny is off limits.

For whatever reason, Hermione has never done much for me. And I like smart chicks. Go figure.

Ginny could go either way. It'll take a couple of years to see. Hermione is looking better every year. She may peak early, but I'm thinking she's going to be totally fuckable at 22.

I wasn't going to respond to this, but

That portion of the book was absurd. Even if he could not directly conjure food, all the powers available to him made it moot. He could steal from under the Cloak. He could assumbably just apparate to the middle of a wedding reception, 7/11, or Hostess factory and Confund the first appropriate person that he belongs and needs to be fed. Hell, he could just kill and eat a Muggle. Dog is good eatin', especially Micheal Vick's.

they did use the cloak, but they left money. Stealing from muggles is probably some high level crime.

I thought that they were just moving it up from the kitchens below, where it had been prepared.

You think the representation of women in a book series intended for young to adolescent readers, which presumably include young women, that, intentionally or not, seems to create divisions of power between moms/non-moms, single vs married etc... is irrelevant? Of course we know this is fiction... so are many other fairy tales, but that doesn't mean they don't teach lessons....

Sigh...what an elitest vision...dude the HOUSE ELVES were in the kitchen making the food. They were able to transfer the foods. That was a part of the whole dumbledore explaining to Harry that other creatures have different powers etc.. and wizards would do better to acknowledge and respect them than to belittle etc... Wizard power is not the only thing going on....

According to the Princess, a fully-empowered post-adolescent who has been reading Harry Potter since she was 8, your "lesson" is belied with the simple, yet powerful phrase: "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!"
