AI (the show, not the point guard)

Clay: " He's good, but he could have picked a better song, or at least something different from what he's done before." Agreed. Every week is exactly the same tempo and same type of song.

Kim L: "Eh. I didn't think she was that great. I hate that song and the best part of it was that at least it wasn't celine dion singing it." Agreed completely. I don't understand the Kim L love. She belts well, but she can't sing when not belting.

Rickey: He sang his song so well, I didn't notice where the duet would have kicked in. Agree he won't win, but I really like him.

Kim C: "Bottom 3." She really didn't sing this well. And, she looks like she's lived a little hard to only be "22" or however old she claims to be.

Josh: "I just don't like him and think he's a pussy since Simon had better form and could do more push-ups." Heh. This was a better performance for him, but that isn't saying anything. By all rights, he should be stewing with Carmen and Kim C. in the bottom 3.

Carmen: She just has a weak voice. It was a good song for her.

Trenyce: I thought she did well. I hate Celine Dion, but at least she didn't sing Whitney Houston again.

Ruben: His performance was disappointing. It sounded like he mailed it in. Still, he is head and shoulders above the rest of the performers.

The theme may have been a little too broad for most of the singers.

I think Carmen, Kim C, and Kim L should be in the bottom 3.

Trenyce may be going home.

I was (pleasantly) surprised to see that slide show, and I didn't know that Salon published nudity. Did they do this when they were not a "pay" website?

Since bilmore is shorter, fatter, and balder than Danny Devito, what is it you drink for the Dr. Jeckle / Mr. Hyde effect?

Once Hugo Black = funny, though not at good as BIGLAW_bowski.

I deeply regret having to go all paigow on your asses, but I posted about TATU in February on the old board, which, as I recall, doesn't have an ignore function. No response. What gives? Underage lesbianism is interesting only during springtime?

Tenacious D baffles me. You might as well tell me that the arbiters of underground cool have adopted They Might Be Giants for their hobo graffiti. Meanwhile, people I respect are trying to convince me that the avant-garde of modern art is anime, but I ain't havin' that, either.

And I don't remember discussions on Tatu in February, but then again, I was kinda busy in February

Adder and I have had numerous discussions on the subject however, and Multo introduced them to me a while back.

AI (the show, not the overwrought Spielberg fim)

Clay: Meh. It was ok.

Kim L.: Could have had a little more emotion.

Rickey: Did a lot better than he had done on prior weeks. And it was a rare case where I thought the cap actually made him look better (usually can't stand those caps).

Kim C: She'll be popular in Branson.

Josh: I must admit to being a fan of some country music, including that song (go ahead - snicker and flame), and I thought he did a great job with it. But he should be on the CMT show looking for a new singer, not this one.

Carmen: Is it over yet? Man, there is no way that was only 1:30. You could have convinced me it was much longer... the hell just kept going on and on. Please please please no more!!

Trenyce: Was great until the last 15 seconds or so. That last note? Way too forced (I couldn't hit it on my best day ever, but she probably can easily and for some reason, it sounded like she was pushing it way more than needed).

Ruben: Lookin' sharp!! Didn't really stretch his voice tonally, but he had the best stylings and did a fantastic job.

Bottom 3? Carmen, Kim C and Kim L. Going home? Carmen. Why was Julia there?

Non-singer notes:

About time Ryan got a haircut, but it had the strange effect of making his highlights look like leopard spots.

Is there a Portrait of Lionel Ritchie locked in a closet somewhere? Because if anything he looks younger than he did 20 years ago.

Clay: Glad to see he held off the eyelid flutter until the very end, but I am completely bored by him now. Paula hit it on the head when she said he didn't capture the urgency and desperation of the song--he has good performance intensity but the feeling is always the same.

Kim L.: I was really feelin' her tonight (who am I, Randy Jackson?!?!); I'm sorry you all didn't appreciate her. I felt like she didn't oversing the song, and made it her own--and I was predisposed to hate it because I so detest Celine Dion.

Rickey: Finally sang with some power and emotion, instead of just trying to sound sweet on the high notes. Love him (didn't love the hat and glasses). Could his teeth be any whiter?

Kim C.: Pretty dress. And that's about the nicest thing I can say about her. She is in a complete no-win situation: if she sings the songs she knows suit her voice, she gets slammed for lack of versatility. If she sings other types of songs, she gets slammed for sucking. At least she didn't shout.

Josh: Plenty of passion, but the adrenaline was a bit out of control, causing the pitch problems that Randy noted. His mannerisms (especially the jaw manipulation) BUG me.

Carmen: The only one to do an up-tempo number tonight, bless her heart. Her warble makes me cringe. Very karaoke overall--if she's not gone tomorrow, I'll be shocked.

Trenyce: Had the deer-in-the-headlights look on that last high note (pleasedon'tletmyvoicecrack), but otherwise a solid performance. However, she shares with Clay the tendency to give all songs the same emotional reading.

Ruben: No 205 jersey!! How many cows in that jacket? Not his best performance (had one flat note 2/3 way through), but even on a bad day he cleans the clocks of all the other performers.

Bottom 3: Carmen, Kim C., ??

I gotta largely agree with csquared. When I saw Clay introduced at the beginning and he waved to the audience, I got a totally Liberace vibe from him. Can just picture him in Vegas in really glittery jackets. I am amazed that the kiddies like him. He is my grandmother's taste.

Clay- same shit different week. Please do something different. Apparently it is sufficient to keep him from the bottom three . Wont get him into the top two and hopefully not the top three. I cant take much more of him.

Kim Locke= Not so good but then I hate Celine Dion

Rickey- good looking guy who had his balls cut off. Still sounds like lite fm and had the song to go with hit. I guess he was good for what he does but I dont feel him dawg

Kim C-Well, she looked pretty this week so that should keep her alive over Carmen. I predicted one of these two would go first and its gonna be CArmen. Bc she sucked the worst.

Josh- he is a good Garth imitator and he is hot in a rural south or midwest kinda way. I assume that was Garth?

Pizza arrived and I thought to myself, everyone here ranges from mediocre to eh except Lashumba and RUben so why bother? Then I heard

Carmen- that was like karaoke without cocktails. adios.

Trenyce- very good except for the end, like csquared said. And she is starting to resemble a black Julia. I fear for her future. And it didnt help that her last few seconds were followed by the great

Ruben. Kudos for picking a noncheezy tune on top of it all. He may be the only obese man I would sleep with, and that includes the late Jerry Garcia as someone I would not have. He comes on stage and I can almost feel tears coming to my eyes he is just so great. I love that Shaq smile.

Bottom three- Carmen, Rickey, Kim Locke, Trenyce and Kim C. Oh wait I only get three. Carmen, Rickey, and Trenyce. Though this is basically too close to cal. But I will give one of the Celines and one of the blondes safety. Doesnt matter bc Carmen stands alone.

I think they've always had stuff like that. Goddamn liberals, they don't think there's anything wrong with sex! They had a pretty extensive review of sex toys not too long ago.

Strippers and Fake Breasts- respondng to Jack's misquotes and thats it

This is dead horse territory but I cant bear to be taken out of context by people who do so solely bc they hate me.

On the subject of breast implants...Does the "only strippers and sex workers have breast implants" axiom mean that Demi Moore is a sex worker? Lots of westside firms (used to) cover cosmetic surgery.

On the subject of bachelor parties...Your best man should only invite those who can keep their mouth shut to a bachelor party. FWIW, if the talent was in the industry down here in LA, then she'd likely be safer than the average clubhopper. Porn stars get tested regularly. Your garden variety skank doesn't.

On the subject of "Family Business"...After paigow confessed her desire to do the fashion-impaired porn producer/star, she should forfeit all right to judge anyone on any subject whatsoever, let alone decide such questions of conscience as "skanky v. classy."

(Shiver and Shudder)
You are only doing partial quoting, my little paigow hater. I said MOST implant mpeople I see are strippers, porno people and Hollywood people, which includes actreses, which includes, kinda, demi moore., but hollywood is in the business of selling sex as far as I understand it, so the difference isnt that important. Seems to me that people get implants to feel sexier, which to me is just sad. But maybe thats why its the province of the lower classes? Wealthier people can just do a lifetime of fabulous trips and shopping and personal trainers and are more likely to have natural beauty since rich men marry beautfful women. Maybe these women woudl rather just throw out five to ten thousand or whatever all at once and think they are now sexy for life. I just find the whole thing troubling. Like McMansions- postmodern quick fixes that is no substitute for natural beuty and ultimately changes the landscape in a not good way. But I like things that are classic, not tacky.

ANd that doesnt get into the cost, the risk of invasive surgery , and the perpetuation of the unrealistic body image thing, yada yada. ANd thats all I am saying on this folks. I am sure you all will be quite relieved.

As for the other paigow misquotes- I said I waould do the jewish porno homeboy if he stopped doing all the porno chicks . Plus, he is a nice jewish boy which could, but not necessarily mean, he didnt bang as many. Thats what he seems to be saying on the show. but maybe you could give me props for forgiving someone's manho background if they vow to change instead of blanket criticizing me, Jack? I dont pick on you.
