Oh well, most good products never last.

Old Lucky Charms (before they added 5,000 new marshmallows).

Cybersex seems, to me, to be a matter of getting off on imagining what an amateurishly drawn fictional character is gonna do to you if she gets her hands on you, or getting off on imagining that while looking at pictures, at most. If that sort of sinning in one's own mind is cheating, then humans are not monogamous animals after all, and we are all a bunch of ho-bags.

Ah, powerbars and cybersex. Fun, fun. What else is going on around here?

And, BTW, did anyone else think it was interesting that BRC used "she" in that post? Pehaps a name change to Bi-Curious Chick is in order?

So the reward for being a brave warrior was to get your heart cut out and the rest of you gets devoured and worn by priests?

I'm guessing there was a rather high percentage of ancient Mayan draft-dodgers.

Question for medical (and not) types

Do any of you know anything about food allergy/avoidance diets? (Background: some folks think that some fat people are fat mostly because they eat foods to which they are allergic, and their body stores the food instead of processing it normally; cutting out those foods leads to weight loss).

Does anyone know whether this is good science or bunk?

Good lord... I can't even imagine. The heaviest food I've been able to take is a Clif bar on the bike portion. Though I did enjoy a couple Oreos on the run in one race. I can't stomach the high-protein bars, anyway. Gels, cola and Gatorade.... that's good livin'....

Bunk. I have food allergies, my husband has food allergies. We developed these allergies as adults. I would specify, but cannot as my food allergies are widely know and rather unusual.
Food allergies manifest themselves as swelling of the esophagus, puffiness in the face and extremities, occasionally rashes, sometimes racing heart - same as allergy to anything else. Reaction can be anywhere from mild to life threatening. It's onset can come suddenly and leave suddenly (meaning you can eat a food one night and suddenly become allergic to it the very next night - be allergic to it for years and then one day are not allergic to it anymore - but no way to tell until you risk your life eating whatever it was you were allergic to.

That said, reaction to food allergies is NOT getting fat. Just the opposite - if you can't breathe, you can't eat - nuff said.

I know nothing about this theory, although it doesn't make much sense. An allergy is a reaction of your immune system to something that usually isn't harmful to humans (like peanuts or dust). Your body reacts by trying to reject the substance and flush it out and attack it. It doesn't seem logical that the body would store it in any form. Although I have heard people refer to wheat allergies causing dark circle under their eyes and when they drastically cut down on wheat products, the dark circles go away. Again, though, that's not weight or your body retaining calories.

I think that sort of diet you refer to isn't really an "allergy" diet, it's just that the person's body doesn't have the enzymes or other flora or fauna needed to break down the food, so it's wise to cut that food out of your diet. Some vegetarians lose the ability after a number of years to digest meat and get really sick when they try to eat it. They may then refer to having an 'allergy' to meat, when it's really a simple inability to process it.

C(but the Medical College of BoraBora still hasn't mailed me my diploma, so don't take my word for any of the above)deuced

I am getting the Mr. some of that Zirh shaving oil, though. I've heard a number of times that, for people with really coarse curly beards and fragile skin, preparing the skin with oil is the only way to go.
I think I must have similar skin to your hubby. I recently bought Jack Black shave in a bag. It comes with face scrub, shave lotion, and after shave. It's very good. I'm extremely happy with it. Nordstroms has it.

This is EXACTLY why so much of America is overweight/obese. Allergies. Especially allergies to HoHos and BigMacs.
