I now see what Spike Lee was fighting for

They had nothing to do with the one with Shatner on it originally, and he tells me Shatner will not be in the new series of shows they plan on creating. Look for them in about a year...

As for the original series, the problem is it hasn't run in 3-4 years in Japan... it's currently limited to 1-2 specials annually. So, there's only so many shows they can run. I personally love the idea of a drinking game tied to that show, where everyone drinks when Ohta says "Fukui-san!!"... The SNL parody a few years back was hilarious, also.
When I lived in Japan for several months, the show was in its production stage/initial run and was on air weekly. The thing was basically a religion in Japan. Unfortunately, Liberace is now dead and can't match Kaga in outlandish dress.

Ron Siegel. He couldn't even communicate with the Japanese sous chefs, so he did a lot of the prep himself. He made me proud to be an American.

A better site:

http://www.ironchef.com/

Has the episode guide, scores, who won, and comments.

I especially liked the series where the ICs lost 5 or 6 in a row, Kaga had a fit, and wouldn't even Chair the episode.

FWIW, I heart Chen Kenichi. And Sakai-san. Kaga is on his own, however, as I can't heart anyone who dresses like Neil Sedaka on a bender.

Moral Dilemma

The etiquette here depends greatly on where you are and who they are fighting. If you are in a motorcycle bar in rural West Virginia, 911 won't work and you don't call it anyway. If something truly bad is going to happen, the police won't be there in time to stop it and the guys know how to handle the police anyway. And if nothing truly bad is going to happen, these guys are just having a little fun and it's no big deal.

If, on the other hand, you are in a wine bar and a slap fest gets started, call 911 before they each sprain something. Those folks don't know how to fight.

I once had to make the call when I was in a black urban neighborhood in Chicago (and I'm white if you haven't guessed). The bar fight involved a man and woman, and a huge circle had gathered watching. I started to step forward and the first thing that happened was a big black dude told me not to do that and stepped in and stopped it himself. Saved.

But in discussions afterwards it was agreed that the proper approach in that situation would have been to step well back from the action and then call 911.

Give your business card to the person who was the recipient of the first blow, and proceed to your office to refreshen your memory on intent, assault, and the tort defenses.

Did you have a big glove department, or a small bong?

This is so stupid, it has to be performance art

Bank Robber Writes Holdup Note on Resume

I guess we'll only know for sure if his resume shows he went to Vassar undergrad.

I had this six or eight inch rose colored girl bong. Portable. Great for a trip to the beach or the mountains. Graphixx type instruments were the provence of the male gender.

If memory serves me right, he always looks kind of sour, probably because he gets the segregated second-class entrance... Needed a better agent.

Some of the guest stars are my favorite part of the show, especially when they have sumo wrestlers or baseball players (like Kaz Sasaki) on. The fansites refer to some of the really ditzy actresses or singers they have on as the BBDJ's or Bimbos du Jour.

His mother must be so proud. Personally, I'd rather have a son who is simply a bank robber rather than bear the village idiot--tough luck for her she got a twofer.
