Nice post, baby. You still got it.

That being said, they should have anticpated being spun immediately thereafter with the CSPAN photo capture.
The problem isn't that Cheney thinks that Edwards is an empty suit. Heck, I'm sure that Lloyd Bentsen felt the same way about Dan Quayle. But Ms. O'Beirne is selling nothing but spin by calling Edwards irrelevant -- the Bush-Cheney '04 people have known all about Mister Trial Lawyer for a loooooong time. They started putting out the "Breck Girl" comments about him over a year ago, if memory serves. He may be a Bob Forehead in their minds, but he's been on their minds. That ain't gonna cut it.

Simply put, Cheney fucked up. He relied upon his apparently faulty memory to try to slam Edwards by demonstrating how cavalierly he took his Senate duties. Or, his staff fucked up by relying upon his apparently faulty memory. You had to think that that was a planned line. Why didn't Scooter or Matalin do some legwork to make sure that the boss had never met the Breck boy before they allowed the boss to say it on the air like that?

It may undercut Cheney by allowing Edwards to show that the facts don't matter to Cheney -- you can hear Edwards saying "he misled the American people about 9/11, about WMD, even about whether he met me." And it backfires becuase now instead of talking about Edwards' lack of attendance, we're talking about Dick's gaffe.

That being said, why did Posada try to score on Hunter? Why, bilmore, why?

The new Florida.

Michigan's absentee ballot apparently is misaligned, such that the box next to Kerry's name will instead record a vote for Bush:

Oops. Kevin Drum has the story. Do these problems have something to do with being surrounded on three sides by water? Why, Hank, why?

Cheney isn't exactly the Religious Right spokesmodel, but it seemed that he totally ignored that constituancy.
I posted the above at another forum when the site was down. My favorite response:
  • I'm pretty sure the reason Cheney didn't speak much on that subject is that he is actually repelled by the mere mention of the word God. Actually entering a church or touching a cross causes him to smoke, or even burst into flames. As such, having him speak on such matters is impractical.

Ty, and I are like Nixon and Kennedy (the original). We both started out believing. and trying to convince others of our positions. I gave up and retreated to dirty tricks, but with Ty its still Camelot....

Everyone look, this is Democratic paranoia. this state is completely ruled by Dems, and puts out a ballot where it appears you can't even vote for Bush at all, and Ty blames me.

You want to ignore the plain language and look to the "implication"

Whenver Kerry says crap about a "global test", you want us to ignore the implications and look to the actual words he says.

Just trying to keep track here.
If you insist on being stupid, don't half-ass it, homey. Take the actual words "global test" and play it out to your illogical conclusion. It should mean that every country gets a vote on when we invade, right? This includes the "Axis of Evil," Djibouti and Estonia, right? No. Wait. It means that it should be submitted to every person on the face of the Earth as a referendum.

You're embarrassing yourself.

You heard wrong. He's been on vacation more than anybody I've known with a job in my whole life.
