I would, but I'm terrified of his wife.

Does this mean that I should be worried or not? Was she offended? Were others offended? Should I have kept my lecherous, male-chauvinist mouth shut, and just enjoyed my toast?
You are very difficult, Mister CrankyPants.

Not in my case, since Mr. Ed was a female zebra.

Why do people say "blow" when they mean "suck"? Why, bilmore, why?

Proceed with the following in mind from now on:
If you don't get a clear dirty look, you can assume you have not been offensive in any way. Women who are offended have to exaggerate their reactions so that men (who usually like to think that all women are receptive to their clumsy advances) actually get that what they are doing is unacceptable to them. The simple fact that you are so worried about what some woman you don't know thinks about you complimenting her hair, means that you are most likely incapable of offending someone. If someone is offended by a harmless comment like that, they are an eggshell feminist and should be ignored (and no longer complimented, unless you like that sorta thing).

sigh. Comments were perfectly appropriate mr. I-worry-too-much.
Count me in on the terrified-of-wife camp.

Only a man who needs to be blown would ask such a question.
You know we're hungry if we're flaming Not Bob. During the holidays, no less!

Note: the above applies only when the potentially offended woman does not work for you. Women who work for sexist pigs often become accustomed to taking a high level of shit, and to being offended on a daily basis. This includes women who are waitresses hoping to get a tip.
So, Mr. NotBob, if she was offended, she just chatted about it in the back room with her friends, one of whom knows your wife and will mention it the next time she sees her. (Though in this case, I refuse to think that one can't compliment someone's hair. How was her dress?)

Now you're offended by this? What a bastard I am for commenting that those women are not as attractive as Sandy, Jen, Melania or even Ivana! It's part of the point that this show shows a perverted little glimpse into the corporate world, but makes it sound like it's all about "leadership," "management," and "vision" and that you can get ahead by being a hot, slutty chick. The businesswomen they've had on the show haven't shown any of those things; they've been smart, hardworking, etc. They're just normal looking women who get the job done. It's a shitty message to send to people that T&A are more important than getting the job done.

Again, if some FB Betty blows him at the next GA meeting, maybe he won't ask such silly questions. His questions will be more like, "Okay, which one of you silly bitches is next?"

She didn't say she was offended, she said you needed to be smacked upside the head.
