*A friend had her wallet swipped a couple years ago. First charge was within 10 minutes for $300 of metro fare cards.

I turn off the shower when I am doing the actual body scrubbing and leg (etc.) shaving in the shower. Because I live in a desert.

OK, mostly I do this at the gym because unless the water is off, I can't escape the spray, and the spray washes the soapy stuff off of my scrubby thingy. But I also do it because I live in a desert. Or whatever.

So, let's say that someone lives in LA, a place where people don't seem to have manual shift cars unless it's some kind of fancy expensive sports car, or possibly a very stripped down, cheap as you can get car. The person in LA happens to have a nice-ish, but not fancy, but not stripped down car with a manual shift, and wants to get a car that is a little smaller. Is the existence of the manual shift going to mean the value is way, way a lot lower here?

It's a function of sitting in traffic. And shifting 678 times before you get on the freeway is exhausting.

My car is in the shop due to a transmission fluid leak. Given that it's seven years old and it's only lived in sprawly places, I'm thinking it's not too terrible. Of course, I haven't seen the bill yet.

Even though I have to shift a lot, I much prefer the manual transmission.
