God, I hope that essay was Orwell, or I'll be outed as the literary dilletante I am.

No, its simply called A Hanging.
http://orwell.ru/library/articles/ha...english/e_hang
Really simple writing. Fucking gives me the creeps to read it. Really horrifying. The whole breakdown of how the condemned man's system was functioning in all regards is so clinical. He really captures the degardation of the whole thing. Just a process.

I've only read the last, and it wasn't my favorite, but a friend from law school adores him. The author you mentioned above sounded vaguely similar.
 | I have heard of this guy... I gotta buy this stuff. Thanks.

				      | So sad to have missed today's whiffolympics.
And very disappointed at the general lack of discussion of the most vintage of paigowesque actions -- the threat of placing the poster on the ever popular ignore list.

Buh bye. And thanks for playing.

				Febreze is the BEST

so, I finally decided to try Febreze. I went out Friday and got all gross and smoky (but was really really drunk during that part, so it was fine at the time, but I digress). when I got home, in between sending ill-considered IMs and PMs and emails and so forth, I Febrezed my sweater and skirt. I just put back on the sweater and NO SMOKE SMELL.
I also Febrezed my hair, and though I think it worked pretty well I have been told that that was just drunken craziness.
