When the ones you would normally go for and not have a clue are gay end up being gay, that means things are worse than you thought. Why dont they just call this show No Hope for the Straight Girl?

My guess is gay. But that is a hazy one. If he is straight, he's a pretty good actor.

I was surprised (1) that the military guy was gay and (2) that he came out for a show. My guess is he will be officially ex-military within one month. I was not surprised that the chiropractor was straight.

I am often not funny in person either -- though I do occasionally try. Apparently it doesn't work for me unless I make jokes at the expense of others. ![Big Grin](http://www.lawtalkers.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Saw both of these shows last night... While Boy Meets Boy got bad reviews, to be perfectly honest, if you can get past the inherent deception to James (a nice guy who seems to wear his heart on his sleeve), the show is not really any worse than any of the other reality shows out there. FWIW, I think Franklin is straight as well.
One that kind of shocked me was that the Navy guy who was kicked off was gay, right? I turned away for a second and missed it. When they listed his occupation as US Military and he said he was a submariner, I pretty much wrote him off for straight because of the current US military policy and the problems he'd face after returning to work. Maybe he's not going back, I guess. Either that or he's being pretty brave under the circumstances.
Queer Eye: They had a lot more to work with this show. Seemed like a nice country guy who needed some more sophistication. Neither he nor his place were as frightening as some of their previous projects. Funniest part of the show was Ted the food guy getting a little frisky with the straight guy... He's normally so reserved.
FWIW, it finally occurred to me who Kyan sort of looks like... a dark haired Ryan Reynolds, of "Two Guys and a Girl" and "National Lampoon's Van Wilder."

My Career Counselor Sucked
http://www.business2.com/articles/ma...0.html?cnn=yes
Each morning, while the rest of corporate America wearily gulps down coffee, the staff at the Beverage Testing Institute starts sampling booze, and lots of it.
While the perks are obvious, employment at BTI entails some unique occupational hazards. "You should never taste more than 15 spirits or 30 to 40 beers in one day," warns BTI tasting director Jerald O'Kennard. Sobering advice indeed.

As usual, the Ginger Man is only one who is speaking with actual sincerety (and a healthly dose of crassitude).

I'll blame it on no coffee, but the first time I read that I thought that you, TM were saying that that should be your (TM's) avatar and I wondered who you were raising your tail for.
And, that guy on QESG last night was sooooo yummy. I don't think I could handle something like that IRL, but either he acts really well or he was a total sweetheart. Wow. Yum.

Thank you for putting this so well. This is exactly how I feel about this. THat its sad that women do this to themselves andtake a risk for insecurity (or vanity or whatever SD). Its all about misplaced priorities and I mostly feel sorry for these women that their mindset is such that they would risk their health and possibly that of their babies to do this. Someone was asking me the other night how I felt about a friend who had had a boobjob and I explained that this person was not in a super stable mindset bck when she had it done and I felt sorry for her that she was ever at this point, but that it seems she has taken drastic steps in her mind body health to ultimately work on what made her get her tits done a few years ago. I was happy for her.
But yeah, its sad. But thats what you get in a society where "image is everythign". you might as well file this under the category of suburban sprawl, SUVs and McMansions for things gone horribly awry and away from nature's intent in the late twentieth century.
I apologize for continuing this discussion that was so yesterday- but gwinky voiced my thoughts quite well.

Ahem, BULLSHIT.
Everyone who's posted on this topic knows I'm mainly correct. The thing is, its an ugly truth that most plastic critics offer these high minded social/political reasons, but in fact simply dislike the perfect body image that society holds as a standard. They call the Holloywood body unhealthy. They rip on LFB. They rip on the thin, they rip on the altered, they rip on those with trainers. And when confronted with the fact that most of them are ripping because of insecurity, they hide behind the facade of "These plastic people are sad." I know a bullshit argument when I see one, and your argument, my dears, is mostly horseshit.
What you are all doing is trying to disprove a largely truthful proposition that you find distasteful and upsetting. Rather than say "Hey, SD, we know you're largely correct, but its a foul truth you offer, so we'd rather not hear it," you all scramble for the wildest Rube Goldberg argument you can strap together to support your position.
Its a hell of a lot more comforting to deny that a position you dislike might be largely correct than it is to admit it and move on.
Say whatever you like. This argument ain't about society at large, McMansions, feminist politics, morals, etc.
As i said, I ain't 100% correct, but not one of you will even admite that I'm pretty much correct, despite the fact that you all know very goddamn well that I am. This is a really funny board.

Women do that too. Especially re: stockbrokers and lawyers on big Harleys with no mufflers.

If you hate it don't watch. I just don't buy that it is somehow harming the gay community.

I kind of figured the point was so they could get all the products for free. Product placement of Ralph Lauren to a million or so people in exchange for a suit and some polos? Not a big deal at all.
One of my best friends went to film school with one of the executive producers. I'll report when I get more info.

While I am not going to read this in its entirety bc I know it will be blustery, "I hate to be a lawyer and lawyers are assholes but I sure like arguing and blabbing on and on", SD knows I must be lying nonsense, I will just say, Dude, its my opinion and belief confirmed from my personal observations and family values and all that shit that makes me me. I am sure your sister's fakes are very lifelike and she has no reason to be pitied and is an exception but that dont make me a liar. Now drop it before I put you back on my ignore list for being windier than Less.

Quote of the Day
From David Lee Roth in Blender when asked if he will ever marry:
"Probably not. I seem to get horny, but not lonely. I'm completely egocentric. The error in judgment comes only when you pretend you aren't. How many ruined families and ruined progeny and hungry little soccer kids should not have happened from individuals who went, 'Baby, I love you as much as the spotlight'.'"
Whoa!
