Slave's reference to the infamous "ham sandwich" line is accurate, but even so -- all other things being equal, I'd rather be a guy who wasn't just indicted for money laundering than a guy who was.

That is it. I suffered through 810 pages of Irving and this is my reward. It was definitely worth it.

Bush did not nominate this women because he did not feel he could get his nominee through. Bush put in the people he wanted. This is just the classic example of a conservative not believing that W. is one of him. He refuses to believe he has been pandered to and bought it.

Limbaugh doesn't get it either.
I can't wait to read Coulter's column. She did not like Roberts. She is really going to freak out over this one.

I googled and thought it was Updike- it's Irving? As bad but different reasons.

I'm not a litigator. These distinctions do not carry much resonance. The bottom line is she had more judiciail experience, however lite, than Miers.

The Death of a Conservative

Voice 2: "It's a damn shame, really."
Voice 1: "We're at war, son."
Voice 2: "Penske, why do you hate America?"

At least this portends some time, as I currently drive a Saab, but plan on moving on to a BMW near the end of the year.

Thank you. I was surprised and saddened to see Wonk flinch from the position of moral certitude regarding Manson's wacko status. That was a softball, because I like him.
A platonic softball. Nttawwt.

If I had known then what I know now, I would have gone to Ohio and fraudently claimed residence (using a friend's residence and a faked lease), obtained a license and voted absentee for Monsieur Kerry. I am sure most of my several hundred socks would have done the same.
What was the margin, before Bush's known fraud, in Ohio?

Other Republicans I blame.....
Slade Gorton. Voted against Bork.
Thankfully in 2000 I had moved to his state and had the opportunity to vote against him, solely as retribution for his Borking of the Bork. And since I control a voting bloc of 2, that meant 2 votes against him and for Maria Cantwell. She won by total of approximately 2000 votes. Eat that Slade you disloyal Gorton's fisherman motherfucker.
Now I have decided, in response to Bush's traitorous turn to the left on his SCotUS nomination to throw my '06 support, both votes, assuming I don't get divorsed between now and then, behind Cantwell, regardless of the Republican challenger, unless its me, solely for the purpose of doing my part to deny Bush another Republican in the Senate. I apologise in advance if Dino Rossi decides to get into this race, despite his statements that he was out, as he was screwed by the Dimwits illegal vote fraud in last year's governor's race, but on principle (hi Sebby!) I can no longer support the President or his Party (until he is removed from office, by term or otherwise).
The babyjesuschristsuperstar weeps.

I don't care...
how many Texans or other Bush cronies say this lady is a conservative, she is a fucking lightweight. Ty should be the nominee on this standard.
And does anyone else think it was Bush who sucked Harry Reid's hairy reed to get his moronic endorsement ("I am very impressed, although I have not worked with her much or known her long") or is Rove the designated cocksucker?
